Today started early.
First stop: the probate court.
A birth certificate to hand over.
Simple.
Funny though — at the town hall it would have cost 15 euros plus a stamp.
Here: nothing.
Same paper. Different system.
Then shopping.
Again with one goal:
A suit.
Again nothing.
Not quite.
There were options.
But the prices.
Or maybe my thinking changed.
Before I just bought.
Saw it. Tried it. Done.
Price barely noticed.
Today I hesitate.
Not because I can’t.
Because I question.
How often will I wear it?
One time. Maybe two. If I stretch it—three.
And then?
It hangs there. Waiting for an occasion that may or may not come.
Strange.
I stand there between two versions of myself.
The one who just decides.
And the one who calculates meaning.
So I leave empty-handed.
Again.
And still — it was a good day.
Nothing found. But a lot of laughter.
Sometimes that’s the better purchase.
