I'm lucky enough to have a Bahay Kubo (beach house) near the ocean and the picture above is the view from the balcony.
That is the actual beach hut. Beautiful place underneath to do a barbecue and chill with friends. Or karaoke, drink, whatever.
Overall it is a beautiful beach and today I was pretty much the only person on it. According to the manager the place is all but abandoned in the rainy season.
But as beautiful as the beach is it is not well developed. It's not overly touristy. There are no souvenir shops, no excursions to buy and no luxury hotels. Just a whole bunch of beach huts to relax in and the ocean.
But that's both a good and a bad thing. The ONLY place you can buy anything is at the main entrance. Water, softdrinks and a few types of alcohol...all very reasonably priced. But feel like a snack well....let's hope you brought your own.
Well. That's not entirely true. An ice cream vendor came by on a bicycle and I was able to get some ice cream..
For 0.60hbd it's pretty cheap.
But its funny. You can walk down the strip in maybe 10 minutes and see everything. There are no side streets.
In behind the main street...
Farmland and
Goats.
Buy getting to the beach ..well.. the road is a little rough.
But if you want to enjoy sand, sun and surf this might be a good place for you.
Why did I call it a cheat day and why am I not talking about my 10k steps?
Well. I only really did about 2000 steps.
It was a 2hr trip to the beach each way (4 hrs in transit). The roads aren't wonderful and my brother in laws truck is old...
As a result I got 8k steps from bounding up and down in transit.
So, not an active day to speak of. Hopefully you enjoyed the pictures anyways.
Until tomorrow
Thanks for dropping by
