So long Indonesia. Today was an airport kind of day.
However,it did start with a walk in the morning.
As you can see the sign for the hotel is broken in half because there was some serious rain and wind yesterday. Here if only caused half the sign to fall down.
As you can see the sign went splat. Unpleasant but it will get fixed. Unfortunately when I was chatting with the hotel management one of the window washers at the Pakuwon Mall in Surabaya got caught out in the storm and fell from height. Died. That is very sad.
Anyways I had a really nice chat with both the operations manager and the front desk manager at the hotel before I left. They gave me a couple of souvenirs which made me feel appreciated and happy. They also offered me a few free drinks and food for the road, but I had to decline because I don't do well with food in my stomach for long trips.
This trip was long. Left the hotel at 3:30pm. Left the airport at 7:00PM and arrived in Manila at 5:00AM. Ugh.
As for the airport? Well, they were great places to get steps...
Long stretches between gates for sure.
Even the lineup to get into the waiting lounge to go to Manila was really long.
Then there was the airplane itself. Unfortunately both flights (Surabaya to Singapore and Singapore to Manila) were really packed. I got shovelled in between two people both times so it was really uncomfortable.
Note to self: Lose weight because being extra sized in airplane seats is unpleasant :)
Let's see what other images I have for the day:
I packed light to go to Surabaya. I had to laugh when the staff asked to help me with all my luggage hahaha. They were kind of surprised that was all I brought along.
I took this picture after I heard about the window washer. Would you want to wash windows on this building? And the Pakuwon mall is even taller... (Shudder)
Walked by the Dikichi today. Still not open which made me sad because the prices here make me go...Ohh... I wonder if it will be any good.
And one final picture of me with Surabaya in the background before I headed out. Not sure when or if I go back but honestly I enjoyed my time here.
Tomorrow?
Manila and we will see how I get my steps there.
