Well I'm going to put two days into one.
Why? Because when I drive back home from my mom's house I'm unlikely to get enough steps to post.
The image is my mom and I. She was horrified that I took her picture with no makeup on but it was a quick snap before I left. Considering her health I wanted to make sure to get pictures when I could.
As for me? Since this is a day old post. Yesterday I did some errands for my mom. Post office trip for her bills. Go to the accountant to check when her taxes will be completed. Go to the bank to deposit money and check her balance.
In the evening? A family meeting. My nephew has a small rancher. My mom has a two level home. My mom needs my nephews rancher. So we were discussing doing a house switch..
How often do people just casually decide to switch houses with no payment. Haha. But that was what we were discussing.
While we were chatting.. there were three dogs distracting us and one cat that was actively hiding from them.
... That's when I noticed it was starting to snow. Gross.
The drive to the airport is roughly 400km and driving in slick roads isn't fun.
I hoped the next morning the snow would be either very light or already plowed.
Not so much on the plowed.
.. And I had to clear off the car.
But it was a bright, sunny morning and only -6C haha.
It took extra time to get the car cleared off and everything loaded in but I was still able to leave 30 minutes earlier than I originally planned.
Good thing too.
I had mixed luck on the drive. I was such behind the sanding truck. The good news. It turned the road from a skating rink (very slippery) to drivable. The problem. It was only doing 60kph in a 100kph zone. Now where i live out is illegal to pass snow trucks. Here? I had no idea.
I had a rental car so I figured better safe and slow. Although I was hoping I returned it in time so no extra fees. After 45 minutes the sanding truck pulled over and gradually the road got better. Still with the snow and sand every large truck going the other way... Sent water and debris into my windshield. I kept hoping"please no rock chips on the windshield".. I don't need any additional bills.
End result?
Made it to the airport... With 15 minutes to spare on the rental. And 4 hours to kill before my flight.
... And no rock chips.
Overall? Sad to leave my mom. Happy I will be home soon
And that's my actually report for yesterday and part of today. :)
