Well, I walked the Port Coquitlam trail. Not the whole thing because it is a very long trail.
I did it in two parts. The first part I just walked along the trail while my wife was busy to see if it was any good.
Result:
1.9km Just for walking back from the end of the route. I did 3.8km before I even started my walk with my wife.
Then I asked my wife to go on a walk and we enjoyed the walk for sure.
That was another 4km and by the end of 8km of walking I was pretty tired.
As for the walk in the park. It was really nice that it was shady. It made things not too hot (it was a hot day in the sun) and the river made it beautiful to look at.
Some of it was concrete and some was gravel but most of it was treed.
Still being in the trees made for a very nice view whether it was concrete or not. There were flowers that were beautiful. Trees that were green and nice. Plus the sun filtering through the trees made it peaceful.
In addition I've never been through the park before and just walking through a new path felt good.
Then again, there was one part of the trail that was blocked off for work :( We went that way and had to turn around.
As for the river there was this image here. Under the bridge there were decorative salmon. On the one side it was kind of cool to see the reminder that there are fish in the water. Then again there is the hidden reason for the fish... To keep homeless people from sleeping underneath the bridge. That's a little sad that there are people who would sleep there so the city has to put the fish place.
There was also the river which was nice to see and my wife commented how nice it would be to picnic there.
Indeed there were places to go right down to the waterfront which would be perfect for a picnic.
Add in an actual play park with places to sit and enjoy with family. Or let the kids play while sitting to watch them. For me? The washroom... So nice to know its there when walking that far :)
And I think that's it for the day. Well, add in walking the dog morning and evening and there we go, that was the day. :)
