Today was mother's Day and my wife wasn't working. Surprising because she had been doing an awful lot of shifts. Why so much work? She trades shifts so she can get more time off for vacation.
Tomorrow is a travel day so today is packing day. Since we are going to be traveling in ryanair which has ridiculously small luggage allowance of 40x30x20cm my wife and I had to be very judicious with our packing.
My wife says the backpack feels like punishment and that it is the backpack of a kindergarten student. She might be right but there is something about paying more for my bag than for me that I just can't do.
Other than that? Today was a relax day. Walking the dog in the morning with my wife and it really was a beautiful day.
She marveled at the size of her flowers in the driveway
And the walk was really nice
Not too hot, not too cold, sun was shining and the park wasn't very crowded plus there was wildlife.
There was a heron hanging out in the lake.
Then there were geese hanging out with their chicks.
Plus I got a few photos which I thought were nice.
Feel free to disagree of course.
After the walk it was time for church. I will admit that it was a boring service. I'm glad I went but a few hours later I had no recollection of what the sermon was about. That's not really a good sign.
Then it was back home to pack. Or should I say double check everything. Clothes were packed but...
Made sure I had travel insurance documents.
Made sure to copy my credit card info in case they are lost.
Made sure to check cables and chargers
Copied itinerary
Copies of passport
And get priority pass ready so I can use the executive lounge in Calgary.
All really tedious stuff that I probably won't need but do nice to have in case I do.
After that? Went to dairy Queen for mother's Day ice cream. Went to take the dog for his evening walk. Then relax and have a quiet night before the long travel day tomorrow.
And yes. My wife joined me for the evening walk also..
And that's my steps for the day :)
Thanks for dropping by
