There is a huge black hole in the center of our Milky Way galaxy. Its name is Sagittarius A*. This supermassive black hole has a mass about 4 million times that of the Sun. Its distance from Earth is about 26 thousand light years. Two scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 2020 for discovering this supermassive black hole. Their names are Andrea Gage and Reinhard Genzel.
This black hole is orbited by a fast-moving star, called S62. Astronomers say it is the fastest star ever found. When it reaches the black hole, its speed is about 24,000 kilometers per second, which is about 8 percent of the speed of light. Moving so fast also changes the speed of time for it.
