A passenger named Aminur Islam (32) was thrown from the roof of a moving train in Joypurhat by robbers. The incident took place at around 6:30 pm on Sunday (August 10) in the Chakarghunath area of Akkelpur upazila.
The injured Aminur Islam is a resident of Dakshin Palashbari village in Chirirbandar upazila of Dinajpur. He is working as a cook in the Fire Service and Civil Defense in Pabna.
According to local sources, Aminur Islam was returning home sitting on the roof of the Panchagarh-bound Ekta Express train. When he reached the Chakarghunath area of Akkelpur, two robbers tried to snatch his bag, mobile phone and money. When they tried to stop him, the robbers threw him from the moving train at one point during the scuffle. Later, locals rescued him in an injured condition and first took him to the Akkelpur Upazila Health Complex. From there, he was transferred to Joypurhat General Hospital after receiving primary treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment in the hospital's ortho-surgery department.
