I used to have to force myself to break from the norm in the winter to get out and stack up 5k steps out in the world for #sublimesunday. For the past few weeks, nice weather and family garden prep is making it the norm!
My wife thinks these might be peonies but I have never checked. All I know is that they have popped up early and aggressively, having been planted long before I moved in. The ants love these and this week they popped with a flourish.
My jungle is already starting to explode in green as it comes up early and strong. I am watering more consistently so that the rest of the vegetation can compete with the raspberries. Last year, there was fantastic bush growth but I doubt they produces a dozen berries. Do raspberries produce more some years than others? Did I water them too much last year? I am watering them less and hoping for a bumper crop this year!
I will have to assemble a proper garden update this week with all of the early buds but it is looking like strawberrypalooza as the peppers build up strength and the lettuce box starts sprouting with a little encouragement planted just this weekend.
Here are the earliest sprouts and there is a little red in another berry so maybe a week or 2? Not bad for early June in the tundra that is Canadia.
If I am gonna tease the garden update a little more, maybe it would work to mention that these are three varieties of the hottest peppers on the planet. Care to guess what they are? 10 Hive to the first one who names all 3 in comments.
