I am calling it now! If I haven’t jinxed it, this will be the last wintery looking weekly 10k post for a few months! Having said that, mark your calendars and remember to drop an “I told you so” when I end up being wrong ;)
It was once again my big steps day delivering the news. My excuse for being the CEO of my own corporation yet still having a paper route is that I get to spend a few hours per week connecting my community with local news stories and visit 10k steps worth of people every week.
Downtown may still be looking a little chilly, especially to those closer to the equator, but spring is teasing us and things seem to be getting busier. Even our world famous theatre is in full swing behind closed doors preparing for the launch of the season premiers in a couple weeks.
Starting out early, one last dusting of snow and frost leave everything glazed a little white this crisp morning.
The snowbanks have melted away for the most part even though the trees are barely showing any signs of producing leaves. Leafs?
Another sign of the impending spring is the appearance of the nicer cars which were stored away to escape the harsh winter. Amazes me that there are Bentleys in this small town!
As you can see from the title shot, I took a trip out to see Mater in his field again. He is looking hopeful that he will soon be surrounded in green with April just around the corner.
From the steps of city hall looking north once again, the wind has the flag blowing to the east once again as the late winter snow struggle to cling to the ground. Can you imagine the trees and flowerbeds coming to life soon?
Out at the museum, they haven’t gotten around to stowing the snowshoes they lend out for free to families enjoying the snowy trails. Perhaps they are not an optimistic about the end of snow at I am?
It wouldn’t be a proper 10k day without a trip to the dog park with the little guy. He is off in the forest hunting for rabbits coming out of hibernation and doesn’t seem to care what season it is.
Thanks again for joining me on my big weekly walk as I continue my marathon journey into the top 250 users of all time!
