In continuation of Pencil drawing,a series I have been writing on #Hive using #Ecency. This #pencil drawing was done some few months ago by myself. it is the Christ the King Catholic Church, Achara, Umuchulu in Eziama, Ngor Okpala, L.G.A, Imo State, Nigeria, it is the parish headquarters of Ezema #Catholic Community, Owerri Ecclesiastical Dioceses of Owerri, the church is a magnificent edifice which occupies an area of 150 feet by 100, a surrounding compound of about 250 feets by 500 which houses the priest, cathecist and other church stewards. The highest point is about 3 story building which houses the church bell but is not visible from my drawing position. the building is elevated almost 4 feet from the ground which gives room for the terraced walk way and drive through. The church bears a modern skyscraper look and structure that makes it looks unique from most of the church built around that area. it was said to be designed by an English architect in the 70's and was dedicated 10 years after.
I have been to the Christ the King Catholic Church on several occasion, on one of such visits I decided to pencil down the elegant structure that gives grace and prominence to that area. I also had the opportunity of meeting the priest in charge then who came around when he saw me drawing and ask if I can get the church drawn on a frame to be painted.
what usually struck most visitors to the church is the beautiful landscape which has both trees and a little garden in front with the ever presence of birds and butterflies. The serenity is such that one will marvel at the colorful plants that makes up the garden and a varieties of different field grass grown along the terrace and walk way.
