A big and cordial greeting to all of you.
Today I bring you a music review, an album that I have listened to for many years and finally deserves a review to praise their work and mark what I didn't like so much. It is "AM", the most popular album by Indie Rock band "Arctic Monkeys", an album that means a lot to the adolescence of a great group of my generation, the Tumblr generation, influenced by irreverence, hip-hop, indie and sexy.
Today I woke up early, ready to go to the gym, when I felt an energy invade my veins, it was a rock energy, so I searched my Spotify repertoire to see which album caught my attention, and there I saw it, I couldn't help but think about reviewing "AM", for its legacy and iconicity.
The album shows us the essence of Indie Rock, with its typical hip-hop and alternative influences. It contains tracks that are good for dancing, as well as some that are better to rest and enjoy the slow rhythm. This is the most successful album of the band Arctic Monkeys, praised by critics and media, with a total of twelve tracks. With nothing more to add, let's start this review, so prepare some snacks, pour yourself a good whiskey on the rocks, or a delicious cocktail, because you are about to join on this musical journey with me, to listen to "AM" by Arctic Monkeys.

We kick off the album with the band's most popular single, their most listened to song, and rightly so. A smooth rhythm, an excellent opener. The song is a love song, very cute, but very adolescent. We see Alex Turner declaring his love, with the intention of finding out if it is reciprocated.
It's one of my favorite songs by the band, regardless of it being their most popular song, I really feel it's pretty, with a great melody, slow enough to start the album and to set the tone for the rest of the songs. I rate it a 8 / 10.
I'm a puppet on a string.
Tracy Island, time traveler.
The pace picks up in a big way, rock takes over the rhythm, with an interesting guitar sound that grabs your attention the moment it starts. I really like the way the beat makes you feel desirous and lustful. Flirty and suggestive lyrics, with a sexy voice saying: R U mine?.
The vocal as the last chorus comes in makes me fall in love with the way he delivers these lines, an excellent proof of Alex Turner's vocal talent. Personally, I love the style of this song and makes it one of my favorites. I'll give it an 8.5 / 10, it's very good and worth a listen.
From the bottom of your heart
The relegation zone.
Back to slowing the pace down a bit, but still keeping with the indie rock influences that are quite characteristic. I love the references to alcohol in this song, because in itself, the song makes you feel under the influence of alcohol. The lyrics don't go beyond that, telling a little story, asking for a drink for the road.
What captivates me most about this track is the rhythm, but especially the guitar, come the bridge of the song, which leave a space for the guitar solo. Worthy of a solid 7 / 10.
Arabella's got some interstellar-gator skin boots
And a Helter Skelter 'round her little finger and I ride it endlessly.
We're going for track 4, and just this chance I hear the album, I get to appreciate this gem. The lyrics are confusing, but it doesn't lose its great charm, talking about space and Arabella, an old woman and lover of the universe. What I love most about this song is the great old rock influence, much in the style of Jackson Maine from A Star Is Born (2018).
There were two big factors that made me fall in love with this song this time I heard it. In the part of the chorus where he says: "Like Arabella, oh!" his voice sounds majestic and the way he delivers it is a delight; the other part that made me love this track is at the end, when the guitar takes over the song and makes you want more and more and more. A resounding 8.5 / 10.
Blind faith, heartache
Mind games, mistakes.
The album's rocking groove is maintained, this time a bit more modern. The song is a demonstration of Alex Turner's eloquence, who, in a very rock style, confesses how he wants to keep the encounter with a beautiful woman. The voice feels with a certain eroticism, it shows how sexy rock can be.
My favorite part of this song is when, come the bridge, they start a bunch of "Shoo-Wop" that make you want to slow dance, with your eyes closed and your hands up. A tremendous piece of the album, which keeps the beat going and makes you connect more with the album. I'll rate it a 7 / 10 because it's almost mesmerizing, every element of this song keeps you entertained.
So you're on the prowl wondering whether
She left already or not.
In an ironic way, the album's ballad is about the No. 1 party anthem, it drops the beat in an incredible way and relaxes us to the max, while still making us feel under the vibes of a party. It's like when you're drunk, it's five in the morning, it's about to dawn and you still want to keep the party going, but your body can't take it anymore.
Incredible as it may seem, this song is one of my favorites, maybe the second, without a doubt. It's really good, the drunken feeling it makes me feel made it immediately become a 10 / 10 for me.
Mad sounds, in your ears
Make you feel alright.
The beat is still slow, but in a very smooth and pleasant way. The lyrics of the song talk about how you can get your spirits back through music. Regarding the beat, it is, as I mentioned at the beginning, a slow song, but if I had to describe it, it feels like sunbathing on a beach, under the shade of a palm tree, with a delicious mojito in your hand and your coolest sunglasses.
I always felt special connection with this song, it has a quite enjoyable style and makes you feel attracted to it right away. I give it a 8.5 / 10, because with its Ooh la la la la it makes you fall in love right away.
I can't explain it but I wanna try
There's this image of you and I.
The song I've felt the least connection with so far, and one of my least favorite. Fireside is, lyrically, a nice song about how hard it is to move on after ending a relationship, despite knowing it was the right thing to do. I think my problem with this song is that I never really connected with the rhythm, with the melody of the song.
The lyrics and the part where they use the "Shoo-Wop" again, which I think is an excellent resource in songs of this style. I give it a 5 / 10, unfortunately not all the album can be excellent.

But I'm not finished, 'cause you're not by my side.
A super production, I'll start by saying that. It all feels so right, every element of the song, the way the vocals mix with the instruments. From the first second it starts, you know the song is good and that you'll probably end up liking it.
It's a sexy song, where we can see how Alex Turner is not afraid to experiment a bit with R&B. An extra point is, come the second chorus, there is a little voice repeating the lines that is almost hypnotic. It loses me a little bit when the bridge starts, because it seems to me that it could have been much better, so I'll rate it with a 8 / 10.

What have you been up to?
I recently heard this song by chance in a video and it was, immediately, an obsession. I've always liked this song a lot, it's almost like a shoulder shake to get you to snap out of it, it's good and it's very enjoyable. It generates the need to sing it and dance to it, it's infectious.
I give it a 9 / 10 score, it earns its place as one of my favorites. I'd like to quote a piece, which is my favorite moment of the song, which goes "I want to grab both your shoulders and shake you, baby". Simply genius, a tremendous gem on this album.
You got the lights on in the afternoon
An' the nights are drawn out long.
I have mixed feelings about this song. I like it, it's good, but it's a song I probably wouldn't listen to more than twice...in a week. This is a very sexy song, from the lyrics to the beat, an interesting mix of guitar with a "When you walked around your house wearing my sky blue Lacoste", it's a great song.
Taking into consideration how praised the song is and my personal opinion, I'll rate it a solid 6 / 10. I don't have much else to add about it.
I wanna be your vacuum cleaner
Breathing in your dust.
We come to the end of this album which for me is a tremendous gem, and we close with my favorite song on the entire album. "I Wanna Be Yours" is, in a nutshell, sex and love. It is a song inspired by a poem, with a soft but at the same time very sensual rhythm.
It's a 10 / 10, the best song on the album, period. Listen to it and I have the certainty that you will like it. My favorite part is the way he delivers the lines of the second verse, it's genius, it's magnificent, it's enshrined as my favorite part of the ENTIRE album.

I won't sit here and lie to you and say I'm a music expert, because I'm not, but I am a music addicted consumer, and this album is one of those albums that you listen to over and over again and can't get enough of, one of those that you understand why it's so popular, especially with the youth who are one of the biggest consumers of music. I loved living their heyday and have been a fan ever since, I'm dying for you to give it a chance and listen to this great album.

El día de hoy les traigo una reseña musical, un álbum que he escuchado durante muchos años y que merece finalmente una reseña para elogiar su trabajo y marcar lo que no me ha gustado tanto. Se trata de ”AM”, el álbum más popular de la banda de Indie Rock “Arctic Monkeys”, un álbum que significa mucho para la adolescencia de un gran grupo de mi generación, la generación de Tumblr, influenciado por la irreverencia, el hip-hop, lo independiente y lo sexy.
Hoy desperté bien temprano, listo para ir al gimnasio, cuando sentí una energía invadir mis venas, era una energía rockera, así que busqué en mi repertorio de Spotify a ver cual álbum llamaba mi atención, y ahí lo vi, no pude evitar pensar en hacerle una reseña a “AM”, por su legado y su iconicidad.
El álbum nos muestra la esencia del Indie Rock, con sus típicas influencias por el hip-hop y el alternativo. Contiene pistas buenas para bailar, así como algunas que es mejor reposar y disfrutar del lento ritmo. Se trata del álbum más exitoso de la banda Arctic Monkeys, elogiado por la crítica y los medios, con un total de doce pistas. Sin nada más que agregar, demos inicio a esta reseña, así que prepara algún snack, sírvete un buen whisky en las rocas, o un delicioso coctel, porque estás apunto de unirte en este viaje musical conmigo, para escuchar “AM” de Arctic Monkeys.

Damos inicio al álbum con el sencillo más popular de la banda, la canción más escuchada de ellos y, con toda la razón. Un ritmo suave, un excelente abrebocas. La canción es de amor, muy linda, pero muy adolescente. Vemos a Alex Turner declarar su amor, con la intención de averiguar si es correspondido.
Es una de mis canciones favoritas de la banda, sin importar que se trate de su canción más popular, realmente la siento bonita, con una genial melodía, lo suficientemente lenta para empezar el álbum y para marcar el tono del resto de las canciones. Le puntúo con un 8 / 10.
Soy una marioneta en una cuerda

El ritmo se acelera en gran medida, el rock se apodera del ritmo, con un interesante sonido de guitarra que llama la atención en el momento en el que empieza. Me gusta mucho la manera en la que el ritmo te hace sentir deseoso y lujurioso. Una letra coqueta y sugerente, con una sexy voz diciendo: ¿Eres mía?.
La voz al entrar el último coro hace que me enamore de la manera de entregar estas líneas, una excelente prueba del talento vocal de Alex Turner. En lo personal, me encanta el estilo de esta canción y la hace una de mis favoritas. Le daré un 8.5 / 10, es muy buena y vale la pena escucharla.
Desde el fondo de tu corazón
La zona de descanso.
Volvemos a bajar un poco el ritmo, pero siguiendo con las influencias del indie rock que son bastante características. Me encantan las referencias al alcohol en esta canción, porque en sí, la canción te hace sentir bajo las influencias del alcohol. La letra no va más allá, cuenta una pequeña historia, pidiendo un trago para el camino.
Lo que más me cautiva de esta pista es el ritmo, pero en especial la guitarra, llegado el puente de la canción, que dejan un espacio para el solo de la guitarra. Digna de un sólido 7 / 10.
Arabella tiene unas botas interestelares de piel de cocodrilo
Y un tobogán alrededor de su dedo y lo monto sin parar.
Vamos por el track 4, y justo en esta oportunidad que oigo el álbum, me pongo a apreciar esta joya. La letra es confusa, pero no pierde su gran encanto, hablando del espacio y Arabella, una mujer de edad y amante del universo. Lo que más me gusta de esta canción es la gran influencia del rock antiguo, muy al estilo de Jackson Maine de Nace una Estrella (2018).
Hubo dos grandes factores que me hicieron enamorar de esta canción en esta oportunidad que la oí. En la parte del coro donde dice: “¡Como Arabella, oh!” su voz suena majestuosa y la forma de entregarlo es un deleite; la otra parte que me hizo amar esta pista es al final, cuando la guitarra se apodera de la canción y te hace desear cada vez más y más. Un rotundo 8.5 / 10.
La fe ciega, la angustia
Juegos mentales, errores
El ritmo rockero del álbum se mantiene, esta vez un poco más moderno. La canción es una demostración de la elocuencia de Alex Turner, quien con un estilo muy rockero, confiesa como quiere mantener el encuentro con una hermosa mujer. La voz se siente con cierto erotismo, demuestra lo sexy que puede llegar a ser el rock.
Mi parte favorita de esta canción es cuando, llegado el puente, empiezan un montón de “Shoo-Wop” que te hacen querer bailar lento, con tus ojos cerrados y tus manos arriba. Una tremenda pieza del álbum, la cual mantiene el ritmo y te hace conectar más con el álbum. La puntuaré con un 7 / 10 porque es casi hipnotizante, cada elemento de esta canción te mantiene entretenido.
Así que estás al acecho preguntándote si
Ella ya se fue o no.
De forma irónica, la balada del álbum se trata del himno número 1 para las fiestas, baja el ritmo de una forma increíble y nos relaja al máximo, sin dejar de hacernos sentir bajo las vibras de una fiesta. Es como cuando estás ebrio, son las cinco de la mañana, está por amanecer y aún quieres seguir con la fiesta, pero el cuerpo no aguanta más.
Por increíble que parezca, esta canción es una de mis favoritas, quizá la segunda, sin duda alguna. Es muy buena, la sensación de embriaguez que me hace sentir hizo que se convirtiera de inmediato en un 10 / 10 para mí.
*Sonidos locos, en tus oídos
Te hacen sentir bien.
El ritmo sigue lento, pero de una manera muy suave y agradable. La letra de la canción habla de cómo puedes recuperar tus ánimos a través de la música. Con respecto al ritmo, se trata de, como mencioné al inicio, una canción lenta, pero si tuviera que describirla, se siente como estar tomando el sol en una playa, bajo la sombra de una palmera, con un delicioso mojito en tu mano y tus gafas de sol más geniales.
Siempre sentí especial conexión con esta canción, tiene un estilo bastante disfrutable y que te hace sentir atraído por ella de inmediato. Le doy un 8.5 / 10, porque con sus Ooh la la la te hacen enamorar de inmediato.
No puedo explicarlo pero quiero intentarlo
Hay una imagen tuya y mía.
La canción con la que menos he sentido conexión hasta el momento, y una de mis menos favoritas. Fireside se trata, líricamente, de una linda canción que habla de lo duro que es avanzar luego de terminar una relación, a pesar de saber que era lo correcto por hacer. Creo que mi problema con esta canción es que nunca logré conectar con el ritmo, con la melodía de la canción.
Se me hace rescatable la letra, y la parte donde usan de nuevo los “Shoo-Wop”, que me parece un excelente recurso dentro de canciones de este estilo. Le doy un 5 / 10, lamentablemente no todo el álbum puede ser excelente.

Una producción magnífica, empezaré diciendo eso. Se siente muy correcto todo, cada elemento de la canción, la manera en la que se mezcla la voz con los instrumentos. Desde el primer segundo que empieza, sabes que la canción es buena y que, probablemente, te termine gustando
Es una canción sexy, donde podemos ver como Alex Turner no teme a experimentar un poco con el R&B. Un punto extra es, llegado el segundo coro, hay una pequeña voz que repite las líneas que es casi hipnótico. Me pierde un poco al momento en que empieza el puente, porque me parece que pudo haber sido mucho mejor, así que la puntuaré con un 8 / 10

Recientemente escuché esta canción por casualidad en un vídeo y fue, de inmediato, una obsesión. Siempre me ha gustado mucho esta canción, es casi como una sacudida de hombros para que te espabiles, es buena y es muy disfrutable. Te genera la necesidad de cantarla y bailarla, es contagiosa.
Le doy un 9 / 10 de puntuación, se gana el puesto como una de mis favoritas. Me gustaría citar un pedazo, que es mi momento preferido de la canción, que dice: “Quiero agarrar tus dos hombros y sacudirte, nena”. Simplemente un genio, una tremenda joya en este álbum.
Tienes las luces encendidas por la tarde
Y las noches se alargan.
Tengo sentimientos encontrados con esta canción. Me gusta, es buena, pero es una canción que probablemente no escucharía más de dos veces… en una semana. Se trata de una canción muy sexy, desde la letra hasta el ritmo, una mezcla interesante de guitarra con un “Cuando paseabas por tu casa llevando mi Lacoste azul cielo”, es una canción genial.
Teniendo en consideración lo alabada que es la canción y mi opinión personal, la puntuaré con un sólido 6 / 10. No tengo mucho más que agregar al respecto.
Quiero ser tu aspiradora
Respirando tu polvo.
Llegamos al final de este álbum que para mí es una tremenda joya, y cerramos con mi canción favorita de todo el álbum. “I Wanna Be Yours” es, en resumidas palabras, sexo y amor. Se trata de una canción inspirada en un poema, con un ritmo suave pero al mismo tiempo muy sensual.
Es un 10 / 10, la mejor canción del álbum, punto. Escúchala y tengo la certeza de que te gustará. Mi parte favorita es la manera en la que entrega las líneas del segundo verso, es genio, es magnífico, se consagra como mi parte favorita de TODO el álbum.

No me sentaré acá a mentirles y decir que soy un experto musical, porque no lo soy, per sí soy un consumidor adicto a la música, y este álbum es uno de esos álbumes que escuchas una y otra vez y no te cansas, uno de esos que entiendes el porqué de su popularidad, en especial en la juventud que es uno de los grupos más consumidores de la música. Me encantó vivir la época de su auge y haber sido fan desde entonces, muero porque le den una oportunidad y escuchen esta genialidad de álbum.
Ya, sin más que decir, espero que hayan disfrutado esta reseña tanto como yo disfruté hacerla para ustedes. Un maravilloso álbum y un bien merecido 8 / 10.
