Inspired by when he asked on threads "Can I see your other work somewhere?" i realized it is kinda all over the place. As i do have some other things to do, but procrastinating is great, i decided to make a post with some kind of recap of videos i filmed for some music. Most i would not call music videos 😄
In no particular order.
A lot of these are filmed "live" as they were recording the music live and i was filming all the takes. And the take that is the best from the music point is the take that goes. I need to make excuses for some bad filming :)
First one is nothing special from video standpoint, 2 cameras on tripods (Canon 600d and Canon 80d). But i like how it looks. Could be that the lights were decent. A window and opened door on the left + a Yongnuo reflector to add a bit more light. 85mm closeup looks good too.
And i like this weird version of Livin' La Vida Loca
I think this one was the first ever video where we had some kind of a script of what should happen and how should the scenes work. For most of the song :) Had the Yongnuo die on us in the middle of the shoot :D so we continued to film with a construction light. Not great for color correction.
The song When He Sees Me is from a musicale called Waitress
Think this one was also on Dunja initiative. Cover of Shallow. Filmed with Canon 80d, live music (you can see the laptop and music card in the background). Filmed with the old mechanical gimbal with weights that i got for something like 50$ and to be honest never learned how to use it properly
Latest one, there is a longer post in the making about filming this. With all the problems and how long was it filmed i am pretty happy with it.
First music video for a song from first album from Kronika. There is a running theme in a lot of these, it was cold when we decided to record it :D
First version of Bude všetko dobre. Live recording, the same Yongnuo light :D. This one was filmed with Canon R6.
4 from the session we filmed in the old Disco club. Had to be black and white doe to the quality of the 4 led reflectors we had. Anyone who is following me for a while know the hate i have for those cheap led reflectors :D
Also filmed with the old mechanical gimbal, still didn't learn how to use it as you can see with the camera movement :D
As the plan was B&W i liked the look of the 8mm film. At least i tried to make it look like that.
First idea was to go around them for the full song, gave up, mostly because of my pro gimbal use. All recorded with Canon 60d and the light Sigma 18-35mm :D Love the lens, not great for your wrist :D
There was a contest for some ecology project for kids in the elementary school. Did this song and video. We lost because of vote manipulation :D
Filming 6 songs live, cold, pro gimbal manipulation. In one song i just gave up and put it on the ground :D
We had an idea of first filming the video of them playing and then they will record the song, because of some weird time complications. Yes, that was a really stupid idea. So few weeks later we did this. It was a fun one.
We also had a period of filming drum covers. Did 4-5 of them. I like this one. Filmed with 3 different cameras. 2 Canons and one Nikon.
A Christmas song for a Perla choir.
This was first video i ever recorded. Literally. A week before filming we talked about recording a song, few days later i tired to click record button on my Canon 600D and realized that the card i had is not fast enough to record video :D
Then i had 3 days to learn everything about recording shutter speed, how it works, how to film... End credits say 2015.
The video was no longer on youtube as the person who posted it moved from music to video game music and rebranded the channel. Managed to find a version on my old HDD. I am pretty sure i posted it on 3speak, but it is not there, so it could be it was Dtube.
This one is also an old old one. Not great from video standpoint. But it did kickstart a lot of this.
You will see a lot of same people in all these videos. Is is a small community in a small town that from time to time gets an idea to do something. Mostly because we can, and why not.
I always liked this quote i randomly found on the internet years ago
