Hello, Hive musicians. The bass is an indispensable instrument for any group or orchestra, also in my blog is always dedicated to know this instrument with post to know the greatest bass players and covers of many songs on bass; but in this second semester that begins this June opens a segment to talk about the rockstar of the group "The Guitarists" who are always, after the vocalist, the best known and followed by the public. That's why this segment will always be dedicated to the guitarists. In this segment dedicated to guitarists, within these first guitarist posts, I want to tell you about the one who almost captivated me to become a guitarist; this is "Steve Vai" who is an incredible musician and a majestic guitar player. He has won grammys, has made ten solo albums, regularly belongs to the G3 guitarists, has participated in movies and is indisputably one of the greatest of the greats.

El bajo es un instrumento indispensable para cualquier grupo u orquesta, además dentro de mi blog está siempre dedicado a conocer este instrumento con post para conocer a los más grandes bajistas y covers de muchas canciones en el bajo; pero en este segundo semestre que empieza este mes de junio se abre un segmento para hablar del rockstar del grupo “Los Guitarristas” que siempre son, después del vocalista, los más conocidos y seguidos por el público. Es por esto que se este segmento estará siempre dedicado a los guitarristas. En este segmento dedicado a los guitarristas, dentro de estos primeros post de guitarristas, quiero hablarles de quien estuvo a punto de cautivarme para ser guitarrista; este es “Steve Vai” quien es un músico increíble y un ejecutante majestuoso de la guitarra. Ha ganado grammys, ha realizado diez álbumes como solista, pertenece regularmente al G3 de guitarristas, ha participado en películas y es indiscutiblemente uno de los más grandes entre los grandes.
MUSICAL HISTORY
"Steve Vai" is an American guitarist, born in Long Island, New York, in 1960; just at the age of 12 when he starts playing the guitar and begins to take lessons with the also virtuoso "Joe Satriani" and little by little he was gaining a really enviable ability to play. After his lessons with Satriani, Vai entered the Berklee College of Music conservatory of music, taking his academic studies in music and perfecting his performance skills. Working as a score transcriber for Fran Zappa, is when he gets into his band, something Zappa himself asked him to do, starting his professional career. Steve replaced Yngwie J. Malmsteen (another incredible and virtuoso guitarist) in the band Alcatrazz and filled the space left by Yngwie very well, since he is a guitar speedster and a perfectionist, something that Steve with years of discipline managed to master very well. In 1996 he was called by his first teacher and great friend Joe Satriani to join the G3 world tour, completing this virtuoso trio with Eric Johnson, which was a success and thus being heard in various corners of the world. Many of his albums have been accompanied by great musicians and he has managed to win three Grammys, undoubtedly Steve is a great representative of the guitar worldwide.
“Steve Vai” es un guitarrista estadounidense, nacido en Long Island, Nueva York, en 1960; apenas a los 12 años cuando empieza a tocar la guitarra y empieza a tomar clases con el también virtuoso “Joe Satriani” y poco a poco fue ganando una habilidad realmente envidiable para tocar. Luego de sus clases con Satriani, vai entra al conservatorio de música Berklee College of Music, teniendo sus estudios académicos en música y perfeccionando sus habilidades en ejecución. Trabajando como transcriptor de partituras para Frank Zappa, es cuando consigue entrar en su banda, cosa que le pidió el mismo zappa, empezando ahora sí, su carrera profesional. Steve, fue quien reemplazó a Yngwie J. Malmsteen (otro increíble y virtuoso guitarrista) en la banda Alcatrazz y lleno muy bien el espacio dejado por yngwie, ya que este es un velocista de la guitarra y un perfeccionista, cosa que Steve con los años de disciplina logró dominar muy bien. En el año 1996 es convocado por su primer profesor y gran amigo Joe Satriani a unirse en la gira mundial del G3, completando este trío virtuoso con Eric Johnson, que fue un éxito y así ser escuchados en varios rincones del mundo. Muchos de sus álbumes han estado acompañados de grandes músicos y ha logrado ganar tres Grammys, indiscutiblemente Steve es un gran representante de la guitarra a nivel mundial.
1. Techniques used by Steve Vai.
Steve's technical level is very broad, what is characteristic of him is the use of tremolo, slide and tapping, combined with a speed and style unique to him, even playing his guitar with his tongue, which seems silly, but Steve took this to another level, managing to make solid punctuations only with the use of his tongue, incredible.
El nivel técnico de Steve es muy amplio, lo que sí es característico de él, es el uso del tremolo, el slide y el tapping, conjugados con una velocidad y estilo únicos de él, llegando a tocar su guitarra con la lengua, cosa que parece una tontería, pero Steve llevó esto a otro nivel, logrando hacer punteos sólidos solo con el uso de su lengua, increíble.
