"Hot off the resounding success of the very first Open Stage a few weeks ago, Dan and Matt Roux are proud to bring you Open Stage 2 on Saturday 17th September hosted once again at Salt & Sage. We’ve curated an incredible line up of upcoming and seasoned musicians who will entertain and delight you as they share original and handpicked covers to take you on a musical journey. Each act will share five songs with us."
1. Your hosts, Dan and Matt Roux
"Our evening kicks off with your hosts Dan and Matt Roux taking you on a journey to the heart of the blues as they explore some of the themes that have shaped modern music. Dan’s fiery electric lead playing provides the perfect counterpoint to Matt’s singing and rhythm guitar playing."
2. Buhle and Brian
Up next we welcome two newcomers to Open Stage, Buhle and Brian. Despite her tender years Buhle has impressed with her vocal range and ability, and is happy to sing acapella or accompanied. Currently attending the Waterfront Theatre School in Cape Town, she excels at show tunes! Her repertoire continues to grow, and she is comfortable singing, pop, oldies and blues, and her roots are explored when she covers African tunes. Buhle will be joined by Brian on guitar. Born lots of years ago in London, he has played in a variety of folk venues, pubs, and other drinking establishments in the UK and Cape Town. He plays a mix of Celtic and modern tunes and has been known to play in a kilt!
3. Silvana and Rebecca
"Silvana and Rebecca STOLE THE NIGHT with their phenomenal voice control and performance at the first Open Stage and they return to take us even deeper into their repertoire for a five song set. Fresh from their starring roles in Milnerton High School’s The Story Of Tonight, we can expect nothing less than fireworks from these incredibly talented performers."
4. Matt and Dani
"Matt and Dani return to Open Stage with an extended set including a brand new original track that will take you on a deep journey."
5. Claire and Jasper
"Claire and Jasper have been tearing it up all over town in 2022 and they’re back for Round 2 at Open Stage!
Jasper Dick enjoys writing songs in a variety of genres and themes. He works for a renewable energy company by day, and recently became a dad to a beautiful baby daughter for the first time, so it's always a treat for him to be able to pick up the guitar and dust off the rust!
Claire Mobey is a vocalist and songwriter from Cape Town, who composed and performed her own music in her early teens. Claire took a long break from her musical dreams, but through collaboration and with the support of musicians like Jasper, she has picked up her mic again and is composing and performing once again, with several songs set for official release this year.
Jasper and Claire started collaborating at the beginning of 2021, after years of promising to meet up and Jam. Friends since 1989, it's taken decades, a mutual love of music and a global pandemic to finally get these playground friends on stage together!"

6. Andy Lund
"Andy Lund is a storyteller; a singer/songwriter routed in emotive song writing, moving melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Influenced by everything from alt country, folk and classic rock to alt rock, electronic and experimental, you’ll find him somewhere between Neil Young and Radiohead, Black Sabbath and Ryan Adams, Prince and The Beatles.
He has released 7 albums and EPs over his years as a songwriter.
Whether performing solo or with his bands, Andy Lund always puts on a compelling, entertaining performance of his crafted songs; honest and from the heart.
Andy has hosted Cape Town’s longest and most successful singer-songwriter open mic nights for the past 7 years at The House of Machines and tonight he makes his way to our neighbourhood to change our lives."
