Hello, Hivers and music lovers!
Happy Tuesday!!! The day for music lovers on Hive to share some tunes thanks to 's #threetunetuesday initiative.
And today, I bring you three tunes from a Venezuelan band called Rawayana.
Yesterday, when I talked with my son, he asked me if I had seen the Tiny Desk that they just released a few days ago of this Venezuelan band on the occasion of Latin Heritage Month at the Tiny Desk Concerts.
Rawayana is a Venezuelan band formed in 2007 that mixes rhythms such as alternative rock, reggae, ska, and funk.
Their career became known at the Festival de Nuevas Bandas in Caracas in 2010. Source.
In addition to the Tiny Desk concert that came out a few days ago, the band released a new album this year, called Quien Trae Las Cornetas.
But before I get into the tunes, let me give you a little background for those of you who aren't familiar with #threetunetuesday. In the words of , who started the initiative.
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #ttt or #threetunetuesday tags that would be great. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize - more on that later.
You can find out more at ablaze's post with his recommendations for this last week the #121.
And without further ado, let's go with the tunes.
Tune 1 - Rawayana - Funky Fiesta
This is a song included in the album Trippy Caribbean which the band released in 2016.
This album is the one I like the most by them, and the one that won them international fame.
Tune 2 - Rawayana - High
This song is also from the album Trippy Caribbean and is one of the big hits of the band. The song is in collaboration with the Venezuelan rapper known as Apache.
Tune 3 - Rawayana - Feriado
This song is from their most recent album ¿Quién trae las cornetas?
It is very catchy and has very funny lyrics.
BONUS
And of course, to close, I leave you the Tiny Desk concert.
Did you like the band? If you liked the tunes, which one was your favorite? Tell me in the comments.
Thank you very much for reading!
