I mentioned in my introduction post that while I have some vinyl records, and also quite a few tapes, most of my music collection is on CD. Why? Because it is generally easier to get hold, easier to store and quite simply more accessible.
That being said, I still like to play vinyl every now and then. For me it is more of an experience, a 'special occasion' even. I will have CDs playing while working, while cleaning, and while doing other things. When I play Vinyl's however, I sit and listen to the music. I'll hold the artwork in my hand and read the lyrics and any liner notes... In that moment I am doing nothing else but appreciating and enjoying the music.
Album 1: Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast
Their 3rd Album, the one which featured new vocalist Bruce Dickinson, and also the one which arguably kicked off their career. It is a true classic and an album that, in my opinion, every self respecting metalhead should own
Album 2: Wretched Soul - The Ghost Road
For the second choice of the evening, I have gone for Wretched Soul. I bought it purely due to the fantastic artwork, but it turns to be a pretty awesome album too! Genre defying, with elements of classic metal, thrash, death and black metal. Whatever you label them, its full of energy and its damn good fun!
