Greetings Musical community! I am very pleased to share my experience here.
I have played and I play many musical instruments, I play melodies, songs, I studied theory and solfeggio, I know how to read scores but I am very lazy, I prefer to play as they say "by ear" because I feel less mechanical.
Since I was very young I belonged to different musical groups where I polished my skills, among the instruments I have played and mastered are:
Percussion: Redoblante, granadero, timbal, tumbadoras, tambor, furruco, charrasca, among others.
Wind: Harmonica, flute, trumpet, clarinet, trombone, accordion, organ.
Piano and keyboard.
I always wanted to play guitar, to play melodies but I never understood its system, I don't understand how to play the chords on them, I had family who taught me but I never got it, my parents gave me a cuatro (traditional Venezuelan instrument) but I could never get a note out of it, I only learned to tune it, my frustration led me to break it on the head of my nephew who is more or less contemporary to my age, who bullied me a lot just when I was trying to get a note out of him.
I always wanted to have a violin, however I thought that not being able to master any stringed instrument, I would surely fail in the attempt, but.... Someday I will try.
I had a friend who had a violin, but she was so jealous of her instrument that she wouldn't lend it out, I don't blame her, it's a very delicate instrument.
Now that I am very old, I wanted to look for the economic opportunity to buy this instrument and I managed to get it a few months ago, today I tell you her story.

He tocado y toco muchos instrumentos musicales, saco melodías, canciones, estudié teoría y solfeo, se leer partituras pero me dan mucha pereza, prefiero tocar como dicen "de oído" ya que me siento menos mecánica.
Desde muy joven pertenecí a distintos grupos musicales donde fui puliendo mis destrezas, entre los instrumentos que he tocado y domino son:
Percusión: Redoblante, granadero, timbal, tumbadoras, tambor, furruco, charrasca, entre otros.
Viento: Armónica, flauta, trompeta, clarinete trombón, acordeón, órgano.
Piano y teclado.
Siempre quise tocar guitarra, sacarle melodías pero nunca entendí sus sistema, no entiendo cómo sacar los acordes en ellas, tuve familia que me enseñaba pero no se me dio, mis padres me obsequiaron un cuatro (instrumento tradicional venezolano) pero nunca pude sacarle una nota, solo aprendí a afinarlo, mi frustración me llevó a romperlo en la cabeza de mi sobrino que es más o menos contemporáneo a mi edad, quien me hacía mucho bullying justo en el momento que estaba tratando de sacarle una nota.
Siempre quise tener un violín, sin embargo pensé que al no poder dominar ningún instrumento de cuerdas, seguro iba a fracasar en el intento, pero... Algún día lo intentaré.
Tuve una amiga que tenía un violín, pero ella era tan celosa con su instrumento que no lo prestaba, no la culpo, es un instrumento muy delicado.
Ahora que ya estoy muy mayor, quise buscar la oportunidad económica para comprar este instrumento y logré obtenerlo hace unos meses, hoy te cuento su historia.

Before I continue, I must say that I love my Snoopy coat, it's my favorite, it's so cold here, hahaha! Lately I've been buying very childish and fun clothes to wear around the house, they fill me with joy.
...After this little interruption with my coat... I tell you that when my computer burned I had to buy its spare parts, which were more expensive than buying a new one, so that same day I saved money and was left to give me the pleasure of buying the violin, I looked on the GPS where the store was in Caracas and seeing that it was very close to it, I felt it was a divine message to buy it, because I was just the cost of it. I went walking and there was the big store.
There was a very modern one, but it was more expensive, man! I couldn't afford it, I wasn't going to go crazy buying it either, I was already very ecstatic looking at the musical instruments, I wanted to play them all. Then, at the violin stand, there were several models, of different sizes and when I saw the one I bought I fell in love, besides being the exact price of what I had, I said, this is mine and I bought it.
Before that I asked if I could try it, and as I had seen tutorials before I knew how to take it, I put it on where I was going, however I did not place the bow on it. When trying to make a chord I was worried about my arthritis, as I thought it was also going to be a hindrance to not being able to get tunes out of it.

Antes de continuar, debo decir que me encanta mi abrigo de Snoopy, es mi favorita, aquí hace mucho frio, ¡Jajaja! Últimamente he estado comprando prendas de vestir muy infantiles y divertidas para andar en casa, me llenan de alegría.
…Después de esta pequeña interrupción con mi abrigo... les cuento que cuando mi computadora se quemó tuve que comprar sus repuestos, de los cuales me salían más caros que adquirir una nueva, así que ese mismo día me ahorré dinero y quedó para darme el gusto de comprarme el violín, busqué en el GPS dónde quedaba la tienda en Caracas y al ver que estaba muy cerca de ella, sentí que era un mensaje divino para comprarla, pues me quedaba justo el costo del mismo. Me fui caminando y allí estaba la gran tienda.
Había uno muy moderno, pero era más caro, ¡Hombre! No me alcanzaba el dinero tampoco me iba a volver loca comprando, ya estaba muy extasiada viendo los instrumentos musicales, quería tocarlos todos. Entonces, el el stand de los violines, habían varios modelos, de diferentes tamaños y cuando vi el que compré me enamoré, además de ser el precio exacto de lo que tenía, dije, esto es mío y lo compré.
Antes de eso le pedí si podía probarlo, y como antes había visto tutoriales sabía cómo tomarlo, me lo puse en el lugar que iba, sin embargo no coloqué el arco sobre él. Al tratar de hacer un acorde me preocupé por mi artritis, pues pensé que también iba a ser una traba para no poder sacarle melodías.

How can that be? - I said to myself, I've been ripped off! I bought a violin in bad condition. I wanted to cry.
Of all the videos I watched and all the violinists I listen to, none of them ever told us that the violin requires a special resin so that when the bow rubs against the strings, the sound is produced.
How can they forget that detail? From books, to How to learn to play violin step by step? In so many videos, why none of them starts by saying before showing how to tune this instrument, that you have to rub the resin on the bow and how is it done?
By chance I found a video where a violinist with less than 50 followers, with a video with image failures explains in detail, the first thing to do before trying to rub the bow against the strings of the violin, her information saved me from frustration but....
Where the heck do I get the so called resin?
Turns out the salesman didn't tell me anything, otherwise of course I had bought it.
How awful!
I said to myself... I will have to wait a long time to be able to go back to Caracas and buy it, when suddenly....

Vino con una caja muy hermosa donde descansa muy bien cuidado de los golpes. Entra perfectamente. La tomé como un maletín y me traje mi violín a casa.
Al llegar lo abrí y quise afinarlo, busque tutoriales para ello, entonces lo saqué de su caja, tomé el violín y el arco y ¡Zaz!
Al frotar el arco con las cuerdas ¡Mi violín no suena!
¿Como puede ser? - Me dije. ¡Me estafaron! He comprado un violín en mal estado. Quise llorar.
De tantos vídeos que vi y tantos violinistas que escucho, jamás ninguno nos ha dicho que el violín requiere de una resina especial para que al frotar el arco con las cuerdas se produzca el sonido.
¿Cómo pueden olvidar ese detalle? Desde los libros, hasta ¿Cómo aprender a tocar violín paso a paso? En tantos vídeos, por qué ninguno empieza por decir antes de mostrar cómo afinar este instrumento, que hay que frotar la resina en el arco y ¿cómo se hace?
Por casualidad encontré un vídeo dónde una violinista con menso de 50 seguidores, con un vídeo con fallas de imagen explica con detalle, lo primero que se debe hacer antes de intentar frotar el arco contra las cuerdas del violín, su información me salvó de la frustración pero...
¿Dónde rayos consigo la fulana resina?
Resulta que el vendedor no me dijo nada, sino por supuesto la había comprado.
¡Qué horror!
Me dije... Tendré que esperar mucho tiempo para poder regresar a Caracas y comprarla, cuando de pronto...

Feeling sad I proceeded to put the violin in its box, a compartment caught my attention, it is a curious little box, it seems to hide important things, I opened it and there was another little box inside.
Was it the resin?
I opened it and if it was, it brought its resin, of course it is not of very good quality, but for a start it is very good.
Following the steps of the tutorial, I scraped the resin a little, then I covered the bow bristles with it and my violin emitted its beautiful sound...
I proceeded with the video I tuned the violin, I was so happy!
I knew how to tune it, and it didn't bother my arthritis at all, I pulled out a tune and my frustration with stringed instruments, I felt it would go away. I will be able to master this musical instrument.
I spent days practicing alone, thanks to many video tutorials. Knowing that this place has a music conservatory and a large complex as a music school, I decided to go and check if they give violin lessons for my youngest son and me, unfortunately the teacher left the country.

Sintiéndome triste procedí a guardar el violín en su caja, me llamó la atención un compartimiento que tiene, es una pequeña cajita curiosa, parece que esconde cosas importantes, la abrí y allí estaba otra cajita dentro.
¿Sería la resina?
La abrí y si era, trajo su resina, claro no es de muy buena calidad, pero para empezar está muy bien.
Siguiendo los pasos del tutorial, raspé un poco la resina, luego cubrí las cerdas del arco con ella y mi violín emitió su sonido hermoso...
Procedí con el vídeo afiné el violín, ¡Fui tan feliz!
Supe afinarlo, y no me molestó para nada mi artritis, saqué una melodía y mi frustración con los instrumentos de cuerda, sentí que se iría. Podré dominar este instrumento musical.
Pasé días practicando a solas, gracias a muchos video tutoriales. Sabiendo que este lugar tiene un conservatorio de música y un complejo grande como escuela de música, me decidí a ir y revisar si dan clases de violín para mi hijo menor y para mí, lamentablemente la profesora se fue del país.

That was not going to stop me. I practiced a lot, for many days until I got notes out of the songs, no matter if they came out stumbling, for me it is a great advance knowing my frustrated history with stringed instruments and my ailments, since arthritis does not let me play any more organ, much less keyboard, it is painful and I stumble a lot on the keys, something I did not do.
Over time my neck began to hurt more and more, and I realized that I was abusing and was a little bad posture for hernias in my cervical, I took a few weeks while healing, I plan to show even a little of what I'm learning, I just have to have the time, because the mood, the desire I have a lot.
This was my whole adventure with this musical instrument that I present today and with which I hope to show in the future at least some learned melody.
For me the violin is a very romantic and relaxing musical instrument, beautiful and elegant.
I have been able to appreciate its versatility in many artists, who not only play orchestral melodies, but can play in unconventional rhythms and tunes and sound really amazing.
To me it is an instrument that has a voice and speaks through its strings.
I love them, thank you for being with me on this great adventure.

Eso no me iba a detener. Practiqué mucho, por muchos días hasta sacarle notas canciones, sin importar que salieran a tropezones, para mí es un gran avance sabiendo mi historia frustrada con los instrumentos de cuerda y mis padecimientos, ya que la artritis no me deja tocar más órgano ni mucho menos teclado, es algo doloroso y tropiezo mucho las teclas, cosa que no hacía.
Con el tiempo comenzó a dolerme el cuello, más y más, y comprendí que estaba abusando y era un poco mala la postura para las hernias en mi cervical, me tomé unas semanas mientras sanaba, pienso mostrar aunque sea un poco de lo que voy aprendiendo, solo debo tener el tiempo, pues los ánimos, las ganas tengo muchas.
Esta fue toda mi aventura con este instrumento musical que hoy presento y con el que a futuro espero mostrar aunque sea alguna melodía aprendida.
Para mí el violín es un instrumento musical muy romántico y relajante, hermoso y elegante.
He podido apreciar su versatilidad en muchos artistas, que no solo tocan melodías de orquesta, sino que pueden tocar en ritmos y tonadas no convencionales y se escuchan realmente asombrosos.
En mi opinión personal es un instrumento que tiene voz y habla a través de sus cuerdas.
Los amo, gracias por estar conmigo en esta gran aventura.
