Una vida plena requiere de un constante aprendizaje, evolución y mejoras, ese en mi enfoque de la plenitud y luego de mucho tiempo sin estudiar, algo relacionado al ámbito musical, me he animado a inscribirme en una escuela de música para aprender a tocar teclado, o al menos haré mi mejor intento, con esta última frase no quiero ser pesimista solo que nunca he sentido que el tocar instrumentos sea mi fuerte.
Living life to the fullest requires constant learning, evolution, and improvement, in my approach to fulfillment, and after a long time without studying something related to the musical field I have been encouraged to enroll in a music school to learn to play the keyboard, or at least I will do my best, with this last sentence I do not want to be pessimistic just that I have never felt that playing instruments is my forte.
Todos nacemos con distintos dones y eso es maravilloso, un mundo donde todos hiciéramos los mismo sería sumamente aburrido. Pero de igual forma, aunque creo que no sea mi fuerte tocar instrumentos, ayer empecé con mi primera clase de teclado.
We are all born with different gifts and that is wonderful, a world where we all did the same would be extremely boring. But anyway, even though I don't think playing instruments is my forte, yesterday I started my first keyboard class.
Me inscribí hace unas dos semanas, cuando una amiga que toma clases de canto me comunicó que estaban abiertas las inscripciones. Luego de formalizar mi inscripción me avisaron que mi clase empezaría el 05 de julio, sin embargo el pasado martes a media mañana entré en dudas respecto a si habría clases o no pues se trataba de un día feriado en Venezuela, por lo cual le escribí a la Directora, obtuve la confirmación así que tuve que alistarme temprano, dejar preparado el almuerzo pues la clase comenzaba a las 2:00 p.m.
I signed up about two weeks ago when a friend who takes singing lessons told me that registration was open. After formalizing my registration I was told that my class would start on July 5th, however, last Tuesday mid-morning I had doubts about whether there would be a class or not because it was a holiday in Venezuela, so I wrote to the Director. I got the confirmation so I had to get ready early and leave my lunch ready because the class started at 2:00 p.m. I arrived on time.
Llegue a tiempo, siempre procuro ser puntual. Sin embargo el profesor no pudo estar a tiempo pues la lluvia se lo impidió, de igual forma vimos una hora de clase, lo cual me pareció una actitud responsable.
I was on time, I always try to be on time. However, the professor could not be on time because the rain prevented him from being there, but we still saw an hour of class, which I thought was a responsible attitude.
No sabía que me esperaría en la primera clase pero debo confesar que si esperaba al menos tocar una tecla del teclado pero no fue así, cuando el profesor empezó a hacer un pequeño interrogatorio musical y los tres alumnos restantes sacaron su cuaderno y lápiz yo solamente alcancé a decir: ¡Olvidé traer un cuaderno! A lo que el profesor respondió que generalmente en la primera clase muchos piensan que ya podrán tocar, pero que no es así que primero hablaríamos sobre conceptos relacionados a la música. Y así lanzó la primera pregunta: ¿Qué es la música? ¿Fácil? Trata de definirla...
I did not know what to expect in the first class but I must confess that I expected to at least touch a key on the keyboard but it was not so, when the teacher began to do a little musical questioning and the three remaining students took out their notebook and pencil I only managed to say: I forgot to bring a notebook! To which the teacher replied that usually in the first class many think that they will be able to play, but that is not the case and that first we would talk about concepts related to music. And so he made the first question: What is music? Easy? Try to define it...
Entre todos los alumnos fuimos dando aportes y al final logramos un concepto uniendo todas las ideas, posterior a eso desglosamos palabras importantes de ese concepto como: arte. sonido, melodía, armonía. Fue algo verdaderamente emocionante, pude sentir dentro de mi como algo renacía, hice un paseo por todas las veces que estuve junto a profesores que me guiaron y sentirme alumna otra vez fue algo maravilloso.
Among all the students we were giving contributions and in the end we achieved a concept uniting all the ideas, after that we broke down important words of that concept such as: art. sound, melody, harmony. It was something really exciting, I could feel inside me as something that was reborn, I took a walk through all the times I was with teachers who guided me and to feel student again was something wonderful.

Sentí una gran energía en el salón, siento que todos quedamos motivados y emocionados por lo que vendrá, nos toca estudiar porque el profesor nos dejó en claro que era muy preguntón. Así que debo repasar los conceptos dados para estar lista para el próximo martes, esta vez si llevaré un cuaderno (¡Ya lo tengo preparado!) aunque mi teléfono sirvió estupendamente para copiar toda la clase.
I felt a great energy in the classroom, I feel like we all got motivated and excited for what is to come and we got to study because the teacher made it clear to us that he will make questions in the next class. So I have to review the concepts given to be ready for next Tuesday. I will bring a notebook (I already have it!) although my phone was great for copying the whole class.
He vuelto a ser alumna y no podría estar más feliz, es algo que me encanta, aprender de otras personas talentosas que consigo en mi camino. La música es un arte que requiere estudio, práctica y constancia. Es un camino infinito, hermoso y emocionante.
I'm back to being a student and I couldn't be happier, it's something I love, learning from other talented people I get in my way. Music is an art that requires study, practice and perseverance. It is an infinite, beautiful and exciting path.
Espero compartir con ustedes un poco más de estas clases que me han recargado de vitalidad y eso que aún no he tocado ni una tecla ¡Imaginen lo que viene!
