Mi nueva etapa en el mundo coral viene sazonada con todo tipo de estilos musicales y también se han planificado varias presentaciones que me tienen estudiando varias piezas. Sé que muchas personas al escuchar las palabras: canto coral puedan pensar en que las canciones interpretadas en un coro siempre será lo más serio que podrán escuchar, pero la música coral va mucho más allá, así como he tenido la oportunidad de vivir la experiencia de cantar el Réquiem de Mozart, en mis días de contralto, ahora como soprano en proceso puedo disfrutar del canto coral con piezas como: Tú no sabe ingle, La piragua o Prende la vela.
Cada canción que se practica en un coro tiene su dificultad, porque hablamos de ser la cuerda de un instrumento y de cada afinación depende el éxito o el fracaso del acorde, el cambio de graves a agudos es uno de los aspectos en los que aún sigo trabajo, voy mejorando cada día gracias a la práctica.
Estas tres canciones con ritmos tropicales serán parte de un concierto Pro fondos para el viaje de la Coral Polifónica de Oriente al Festival Julio Villarroel a realizarse en la isla de Margarita, será la edición décima sexta. ¡Seguimos enfocados en esa meta!
El concierto pro fondos, vendrá a ser la segunda edición de Music Night, evento del cual les hablé y que dio paso a este proyecto de la mano de un talentoso percusionista de la zona, llamado Julito Ramos, él cuenta con una orquesta de música tropical y de ahí que el evento gire en torno a géneros tropicales, el coro tendrá actuación especial y desde ya este repertorio viene dibujando sonrisas en mi rostro.
Tú no sabe ingle, es la más divertida, su letra viene a ser una especie de broma de un amigo a otro a quien le dice que con tanto inglés que él sabía y no le vale de nada para enamorar a una gringa, pues lo ha olvidado todo. Tiene el reto de pronunciar mal el español ¡Imaginen! He visto varias interpretaciones de esta pieza y me ha encantado ver que hasta bailan al cantar, lo que deja constancia de que el canto coral también puede ser muy divertido.
Prende la vela, es la canción que encuentro tiene el arreglo coral más imponente de las tres, si bien tiene poca letra, posee muchos cambios y respuestas hacen que deba prestarse mucha atención al momento de cantar, no he podido dar con algún video del arreglo que estamos montando en el coro, lo mismo sucede con la Piragua.
Por otra parte, La Piragua, es una de las más conocidas para mí, eso es una mezcla de ventaja y desventaja ¿Por qué? Debido a que si bien puedo conocer más la letra, en ciertos momentos la melodía no es la original y entonces puedo llegar a confundirme y cantar con otras notas, pero sigo aprendiendo cada día más.

My new stage in the choral world comes seasoned with all kinds of musical styles and also several presentations have been planned that have me studying several pieces. I know that many people when they hear the words: choral singing may think that songs performed in a choir will always be the most serious thing they will ever hear, but choral music goes much further, just as I have had the opportunity to live the experience of singing Mozart's Requiem, in my contralto days, now as a soprano in process I can enjoy choral singing with pieces like T[u no sabe ingle, La Piragua or Prende ka vela.
Every song practiced in a choir has its difficulty, because we are talking about being the string of an instrument, and the success or failure of the chord depends on each tuning, the change from bass to treble is one of the aspects in which I am still working, I am improving every day thanks to the practice.
These three songs with tropical rhythms will be part of a concert to raise funds for the trip of the Coral Polifónica de Oriente to the Julio Villarroel Festival to be held in Margarita Island, the sixteenth edition. In the choir we are still focused on that goal!
The pro-fund concert will be the second edition of Music Night, an event I told you about and that gave way to this project of the hand of a talented percussionist in the area, called Julito Ramos, he has a tropical music orchestra and hence the event revolves around tropical genres, the choir will have special performance and already this repertoire is drawing smiles on my face.
*Tu no sabe ingle", is the funniest, its lyrics are a kind of joke from one friend to another to whom he says that with so much English he knew and it is not worth anything to fall in love with a "gringa", because he has forgotten everything. He has the challenge of mispronouncing Spanish Imagine that! I've seen several performances of this piece and I was delighted to see that they even dance while singing, which goes to show that choral singing can also be a lot of fun.
Prende la vela, is the song that I find has the most impressive choral arrangement of the three, although it has few lyrics, it has many changes and responses that make you have to pay close attention when singing, I have not been able to find a video of the arrangement that we are putting together in the choir, the same happens with La Piragua.
On the other hand, La Piragua, is one of the most familiar to me, which is a mixture of advantage and disadvantage. Because although I may know more of the lyrics, at certain times the melody is not the original and then I can get confused and sing with other notes, but I keep learning more every day.
