Burn, Burn, Burn

I needed sunshine, so I spent most of yesterday outdoors basking under the scorching sun. Result? Sunburns. And as if they were not enough, I burnt my left palm and a couple fingers while cooking supper, lol! I was to blame the hubby for being away but that would be funny.😁 Just that I forgot the food tongs were hot so I held them and ouch, ouch, ouch!

Nothing serious though. I'll live, lol! But the day's accidents inspired me to find songs with "burn" in the title, which I am now showcasing as my participation in the Three Tune Tuesday by Ablaze.

And so here they are:

Burn by Tina Arena

Released in 1997 as part of her album, In Deep, this song became Australia's fastest-added single to radio. It was a success in the singer's home country, reaching number two on the ARIA Singles Chart, and earned a gold sales certification.

Tina recorded an Italian version of the song "Ti voglio qui" released as a single in European countries.

The singer isn't new to me, as I have listened to her music in the past so it was nice to hear her again via this song.

The next tune is an electropop recorded and release almost 12 years ago (2013):

Burn by Ellie Goulding

I don't recall where and when I first heard of this song but I liked its catchy style. Accordingly, this song earned Ellie her first number one in the UK Singles Chart and was received well internationally too, reaching number one in Italy and top 10 in other countries (i.e, NZ, Australia, Germany, etc).

Per Wiki, Leona Lewis first recorded the song a year earlier (2012) but was scrapped when he album was released. Perhaps it was meant for Ellie :)

And on to the last tune, an R&B ballad:

Burn by Usher

Released in 2004 for his studio album, Confession, this slow jam song is considered to be Usher's signature hits. It topped various charts in several countries, received different nominations and won the 2005 Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Song.

The track is about breakups or ending relationships and apparently are based on his friend's real life. With all its success, Usher must have thanked Dupri for the inspiration.
