A rainy day up here in the mountains which is unusual and unexpected but it's a good thing. It is very welcomed as it washes away dust and also gives nourishment to the greens, especially where water is kind of scarce.
Anyhow, it's Tuesday and I thought it might be a good chance to join the Music community and hop on for the very first time the Three Tune Tuesday initiative by Ablaze. If you're wondering what it is, check out his previous post where he shared his three recommendations and the jist behind #ttt.
I was in the mood this morning to share some music videos on threads and the first thing that came to mind was a song that the husband had been trying to learn for a while now. Each day when he is home, he sings it repeatedly with the accompaniment of his guitar. It's as if he is rehearsing for a performance or something.
What is it?
In Case You Didn't Know by Brett Young
I'm a sucker for love songs and listening to the Farmboy sing this one feels like it is just meant for me, lol! It warms the soul so to speak. Perfect for the cold weather we're having today.
Anyhow, here's a brief info about the song:
- It's Brett Young's second single album which was released on January 9, 2017.
- It made him reach number one on the Country Airplay chart for the first time.
- It has been certified 5à Platinum by RIAA.¹
My music preference includes country and pop. Young is a country pop singer hence his tunes and lyrics easily grow on me. So yep, don't be surprised cause the next ones are still his.
Dance With You
This one captured my heart probably because of its lyrics which are kind of a vow or a promise of forever.
When you need a hand
When you need a shoulder
When you need your space or
For me to pull you closer
I can be your sunshine on rainy days
I can wipe your tears away
Just pick out a song I can hold you to
Go on, let down your hair, baby, kick off your shoes
They say, "Life's a dance," and if that's the truth
I only wanna dance with you
Well, it's packed with romance and love, and just because I'm one hopeless romantic soul, so don't blame me, ya?š
Joking aside, listening to it for the first time made me think it was written for his wife. And my quick research confirmed it was indeed.
Lady
This couldn't be more obvious, isn't it?
"Lady" is maybe one of the most special songs I've ever written. I knew from the moment that my wife and I even started discussing having children that I was gonna want to write songs for my kid. I thought for sure it would after they were born and I got to know them a little bit ā something would inspire me (Young).²
It's heartwarming to listen to this and more so after learning that the song was written for his little girl and his wife as well. Brett Young's songs have now been added to my playlist.
So there you go with my 3 choices of tunes for the day and I hope you liked them. To me, they kind of made up a story of love and family.
Thank you and have a terrific Tuesday!
