A week ago we had a really special concert, pleasant and that touched my soul at the moment of the presentation. I say this mainly because I remember that it was not a good week for the group, and the rehearsals were very, very tense, I even doubted that it would be a quality concert, but I was wrong, and even I did not hold back the tears in many moments of it. Things were not very good, yes, neither at work, nor in the homes of the choristers, but in the end it was sacred music, prayers turned into art, how could that go wrong?...
Hace una semana tuvimos un concierto realmente especial, grato y que tocó mi alma en el momento de la presentación. Digo esto principalmente porque recuerdo que no fue una buena semana para la agrupación, y los ensayos fueron muy, muy tensos, incluso dude en que sería un concierto de calidad, pero me equivoqué, e incluso no contuve las lágrimas en muchos momentos del mismo. Las cosas no estaban muy bien, sí, ni en el trabajo, ni en los hogares de los coralistas, pero al final era música sacra, oraciones convertidas en arte, ¿Cómo podría salir mal eso?...
On the other hand, and although the anniversary of the choir is still a few days away, this concert served to celebrate our 19 years of artistic trajectory and was a tribute to José Gregorio Hernández, and there is a national excitement because the Doctor will be the first Venezuelan saint. Another important detail to mention is that in the audience were the main authorities of the Venezuelan Catholic Church, who are great connoisseurs of the world's sacred repertoire.
Por otra parte, y aunque aún faltan unos días para el aniversario de la coral, este concierto sirvió para celebrar nuestros 19 años de trayectoria artística y fue un homenaje a José Gregorio Hernández, y es que hay toda una algarabía nacional porque el Doctor será el primer santo venezolano. Otro detalle importante a mencionar es que en el público estaban las principales autoridades de la iglesia católica venezolana, que son grandes conocedores del repertorio sacro mundial.
As you can see in the 3speak video I edited for you, the repertoire was very varied in terms of composers. There was music from the United Kingdom, Norway, Singapore, Australia, United States, Latvia, Mexico and Venezuela, that's what I can remember just now, besides being from different periods from the renaissance to modern times. It was a complicated concert, it is important academic music, with dense harmonies and without musical instruments accompaniment, except for the Laudate Domino Giedrius Svilainis which has a tambourine for percussion.
Como pueden apreciar en el video en 3speak que edité para ustedes, el repertorio fue muy variado respecto a los compositores. Se hizo música de Reino Unido, Noruega, Singapur, Australia, Estados Unidos, Letonia, México y Venezuela, es lo que puedo recordar justo ahora, además de ser de distintas épocas que vienen desde el renacimiento hasta la modernidad. Fue un concierto complicado, es música académica importante, con armonías densas y sin acompañamiento de instrumentos musicales, excepto por el Laudate Domino Giedrius Svilainis que tiene una pandereta para percusión.
For all that I described at the beginning, I have no pictures of this day, not even a selfie, in fact the rest of my colleagues did not capture group moments either, just some family photos, each one with his group, we have really had a lot of work and some of us are no longer old enough to walk around the venue and take pictures. Maybe there have been a lot of concerts lately, plus some misunderstandings, but surely after a well deserved rest everything will be back to normal? What I love is that the sound and the moment in front of the audience is still intact; there is no turning back, in that moment the passion and so many years of musical studies are present and our hearts beat in the same feeling 🙏
Por todo lo que describí al inicio, no tengo fotografías de este día, ni siquiera un selfie, de hecho el resto de mis compañeros tampoco capturaron momentos grupales, solo algunas fotos familiares, cada quien con su grupo, realmente hemos tenido mucho trabajo y algunos ya no estamos en edad de pasear por toda la sede y tomarnos fotos. Posiblemente han sido muchos conciertos últimamente, además de ciertos mal entendidos, pero seguramente después un merecido descanso todo vuelva a la normalidad... Lo que amo es que el sonido y el momento frente al público sigue intacto; no hay vuelta atrás, en ese momento la pasión y tantos años de estudios musicales se hacen presente y nuestros corazones laten en un mismo sentir 🙏
