Good afternoon friends of #hive, a warm greetings and a hug to all the fans of good music and to my colleagues and colleagues in this beautiful community. Today I want to tell you a little about my history within music, it is a bit extensive but I will try to make it brief.
It all started when I was around 8 years old, one of my brothers played he began to study guitar at the school where we studied, my older brother already played the drums and was part of local bands and also played in the church where I attended with my family since kid; From an early age I lived surrounded by music by them, at home very good music was listened to by my father who was a fan of Marco Antonio Solis and José José, however my brothers were not far behind because they were also fans of Back Street Boys, Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.
In the process in which my brother began to learn guitar, I also felt very attracted to that instrument, he took advantage of the moments that he was not at home to take the guitar from him and make a little noise. I remember one day he had a rehearsal at my house with his classmates and it was the first time I had a close-up electric bass, just at that moment my taste for the guitar ran out and I fell blindly in love with that instrument.
Buenas tardes amigos de #hive, un cordial saludos y abrazo para todos los fanáticos de la buena música y para mis compañeros y colegas de esta hermosa comunidad. Hoy quiero hablarles un poco de mi historia dentro de la música, es un poco extensa pero trataré de hacerla breve.
Todo comenzó cuando tenía alrededor de 8 años, uno de mis hermanos tocaba comenzó a estudiar guitarra en el colegio donde estudiábamos, mi hermano mayor ya tocaba la batería y era parte de bandas locales y también tocaba en la iglesia donde yo asistía con mi familia desde niño; desde muy temprana edad vivía rodeado de música por ellos, en casa se escuchaba muy buena música por mi papá quien era fanático de Marco Antonio Solis y José José, sin embargo mis hermanos no se quedaban atrás pues ellos también eran fanáticos de Back Street Boys, Michael Jackson y Stevie Wonder.
En ese proceso en que mi hermano comenzó a aprender guitarra, yo también me sentí muy atraído hacia ese instrumento, aprovechaba los momentos que el no se encontraba en casa para sacar su guitarra y hacer un poco de ruido. Recuerdo un día él tuvo un ensayo en mi casa con sus compañeros de clase y fue la primera vez que tuve un bajo eléctrico de cerca, justo en ese momento mi gusto por la guitarra se acabó y me enamoré ciegamente de ese instrumento.
My birthday was approaching so I decided to ask my parents for an electric bass as a gift, they gave it to me and I began to see bass classes with the same teacher who gave guitar lessons to my brother, I was learning and I entered the conservatory to study single and complementary piano.
Time passed and my passion grew bigger and bigger every day, I used to practice for several hours a day but I also attended to my school commitments. When I was 14 years old, I began to see classes with a Brazilian bass player who came to Venezuela and lived near my old house in Maracaibo, Mr. Deco Oliveira, who was in charge of introducing me to jazz, and explaining the type of harmony. applied to this genre.
Some time later he leaves the country, and I dedicate myself to watching online classes with Jaime David Vazquez, bassist from Puerto Rico and in charge of the recruiting area of the Berklee International Network in the city of San Juan Pr.
Mi cumpleaños se acercaba así que decidí pedirle a mis padre de regalo un bajo eléctrico, ellos me lo regalaron y comencé a ver clases de bajo con el mismo profesor que le dictaba clases de guitarra a mi hermano, fui aprendiendo e ingresé al conservatorio a estudiar soltero y piano complementario.
El tiempo transcurrio y mi pasión cada día se hizo más y más grande, solía practicar durante varias horas al día pero también atendía mis compromisos escolares. Cuando tuve 14 años, comencé a ver clases con un bajista brasilero que llegó a Venezuela y vivía cerca de mi antigua casa en Maracaibo, el señor Deco Oliveira, fue quien se encargó de darme la introducción al jazz, y de explicarme el tipo de armonia aplicada a este género.
Tiempo después el se va del país, y me dedico a ver clases online con Jaime David Vazquez, bajista de Puerto Rico y encargado del área de reclutamiento del Berklee International Network en la ciudad de San Juan Pr.
From him I learned countless things in the rhythmic aspect of Latin music and a much more complex approach to modal harmony (Modal exchanges, borrowed chords, available tension, outside notes and tension), I really consider that this was a great pillar for my life. as a musician.
By this time he was playing in the church where he congregated me and when I turned 17 I started playing and traveling with local bands in my country, also with Christian music groups.
I made my first recording at a professional level when I was 19 years old, I never forgot that day, my nerves were attacking me but thank God everything turned out very well.
De el aprendi innumerables cosas en el aspecto rítmico de la musica latina y un enfoque mucho más complejo de la armonia modal(Intercambios modales, acordes prestados, tensión disponibles, notas outside y tensiónes), realmente considero que este fue un gran pilar para mi vida como músico.
Ya para este tiempo tocaba en la iglesia donde me congregaba y cuando cumplí los 17 años comencé a tocar y a viajar con bandas locales en mi país, también con grupos de música cristiana.
Hice mi primera grabación a nivel profesional cuando cumplí mis 19 años, nunca olvidó ese día, los nervios me atacaban pero gracias a Dios todo salió muy bien.
Several years passed, today I am 24 years old and I continue to work as a recording bassist and arranger, it really is that everything has been a gift that life and God have given me.
