Recently in the weekend I was at this music festival somewhere where the main tone was electronic dance music. Somewhere in the back there wasa a small stage where a friend of mine had to play, and also there was another stage where there was also a decent techno name playing, so I headed towards there.
While dancing and listening a friend of mine introduced a mutual friend who also like guitar music and we had a decent converstaion about it with the topic...what is the overlap of metal and techno music and why do they go together so well.
This dude was more into the melodic versions of the guitar while I like the more clean and simple music with just the perfect vibe in there. And the cool thing is...one doesn't have to bite the other!
Bulldoze - Truth
I guess this is already the perfect starting example of what I mean with that I like more simpler tunes. With the whole song being just in like 6 chords repeating the whole time, I totally understand why some people call this simple music.
But the reality is what it does for the general vibe. This song is an angry song, and that it is so repetitive just finishes the deal off. If you ever see this song love somewhere: be in the back because people in the front get crazy because of the break at the end of the song. It gets covered a lot by other bands and I understand why...It is just the vibe!
Breaking it down into a piano version.. How cool is this actually! Now you can really hear what is going on actually!
Madball- Set it off
Although I haven't been the biggest fan of madball over the years the fact remains that the music is thick and full of everything. It stands like a rock and also again...It is simple but groovy
Here again is the live version and again you can feel why live shows are what it is all about with listening to hardcore. The energy, the vibe, and although it never looks like it, people are always friendly and helpfull towards each other
Knuckledust- Time won't heal this
Wow is this album already from 2000?? That means I am getting extremely old. How many shows of these guys have I seen over the years, I'm not sure. But the energy is always big and sometimes even too big for live sets. The mixing of this album would to be have been better with soter vocals because the guitars are so brutal.
But one of the reasons I am mentioning this is because Knuckledust is from London and over the last couple of weeks I have seen a a lot of news passing by from a friend of mine from back in the days when we went to shows a lot. Mark moved to London a couple years ago and has been missing for the last month. His family is worried and so many friends of mine are as well
Here you can find the post of his sister. If you are located in London, please keep your eyes open!!!
