The morning was full of issues to be solved, everything moved, important the movement, then I remembered what I played about 13 years ago when I studied at the conservatory of music in the state of Aragua, Maracay, Venezuela, a piece that from the very moment I heard it, I thought about studying it. In the conservatories there is a habit of elaborating repertoires from the classical references of European sonorities, it seems that no time has passed, a reference of "cultured music" that invites to musical narrowness, not very useful for the present time.
La mañana estuvo llena de asuntos por resolver, todo movido, importante el movimiento, entonces recordé lo que hace aproximadamente 13 años toqué cuando estudiaba en el conservatorio de música del estado Aragua, Maracay, Venezuela, una pieza que desde el mismo momento de haberla escuchado, me planteé estudiarla. En los conservatorios hay una costumbre de elaborar repertorios a partir de los referentes de clásicos de sonoridades europeas, parece no haber pasado el tiempo, una referencia de "música culta" que invita a la estrechez musical, poco útil para los momento actuales.
I had the opportunity to study with Maestro Pablo Gámez, who dared to break the force of habit and proposed new sonorities, more similar to our concerns, he was the one who introduced me to the work of composer and arranger Roland Dyens (know him, investigate him) in addition to working the music from a more sensory point of view, more similar to poetry, that's when I threw myself into studying "tango in sky" and have it ready for a public display of the progress of the study period.
Tuve la oportunidad de estudiar con el Maestro Pablo Gámez, quien se atrevió a romper la fuerza de la costumbre y nos proponía nuevas sonoridades, más parecidas a nuestras inquietudes, él fue quien me presentó la obra del compositor y arreglista Roland Dyens (conozcanlo, investiguenlo) además de trabajar la música desde un punto de vista más sensorial, más parecido a la poesía, de allí fue entonces cuando me arrojé a lograr estudiar "tango in sky" y tenerla lista para una muestra pública de los avances del período de estudio.
From that time until now enough time has passed to forget, however for many reasons today I get in my memory a reconstruction of the precision of the score of that piece, there are some alterations product of gaps, however I consider that the discourse of the piece is not lost.
Desde aquel tiempo hasta ahora ha pasado suficiente tiempo como para olvidar, sin embargo por muchas razones hoy consigo en mi memoria una reconstrucción de la precisión de la partitura de aquella pieza, hay algunas alteraciones producto de lagunas, sin embargo considero que el discurso de la pieza no se pierde.
The rain coincided to encourage me more strongly to record that memory and I comment that there was a kind of dialogue between what I played and the rain, or at least that was my appreciation, with a little bit of raindrops in the sound, but with what they made possible for my creative tension, here I leave you the memory of tango in sky, by Roland Dyens, eternal master of the universal guitar...
Coincidió la lluvia para animarme con más fuerza a grabar ese recuerdo y les comento que sucedió que hubo una especie de diálogo entre lo que tocaba y la lluvia, o al menos esa fue mi apreciación, con un poco de gotas de lluvia en el sonido, pero con lo que ellas posibilitaron para mi tensión creadora, acá les dejo el recuerdo de tango in sky, de Roland Dyens, maestro eterno de la guitarra universal...
