Holii, sigamos hablando de Rosalía, de su increíble versatilidad y de su impresionante ingenio para la música.
Como dije en la en el anterior blog, tengo que dividir este tema en varios debido a que me gusta analizar cada álbum y/o canción a profundidad como dar mi punto de vista de este.
No estoy hablando de la discografía y/o biografía de Rosalía, porque ya muchos han hablado de ello; yo solo estoy expresando el por qué creo que Rosalía es una gran artista, aunque muchos digan lo contrario y como yo interpreto su arte. Sin más, empecemos.
Hiii, let's keep talking about Rosalía, her incredible versatility and her impressive wit for music.
As I said in the in the previous blog, I have to divide this topic in several because I like to analyze each album and/or song in depth as to give my point of view of this one.
I'm not talking about Rosalía's discography and/or biography, because many have already talked about it; I'm just expressing why I think Rosalía is a great artist, although many say otherwise and how I interpret her art. Without further ado, let's begin.
Después de El Mal Querer, Rosalía sacó uno que otro single como también participó en distintas colaboraciones; la verdad aquí no hay mucho que analizar a nivel de temática o significado de cada canción debido a que eran sencillos nada más.
Sin embargo, desde acá se pudo notar un cambio en el estilo de música que Rosalía empezó a crear, seguía siendo muy experimental, mezclando diferentes estilos, géneros y jugando con sonidos distorsionados.
After El Mal Querer, Rosalía released one or two singles and also participated in different collaborations; the truth is that there is not much to analyze here in terms of theme or meaning of each song because they were just singles.
However, from here we could notice a change in the style of music that Rosalía began to create, it was still very experimental, mixing different styles, genres and playing with distorted sounds.
Antes pensaba que esta canción pertenecía a El Mal Querer porque su sonido se parece un tanto al sonido de ese álbum, luego supe que no, que era un sencillo y la verdad es muy bueno; el gancho de Rosalía es que, sencillamente, no se le parece a nadie más, es algo nuevo y fresco, aunque su música es rara y entiendo que no a todos les puede llegar a gustar, es muy comercial.
Me encanta que en el vídeo se represente mucho las cosas que caracterizan la feminidad, uñas, maquillaje, joyas, vestuario, peinados, fuerza, poder, etc... La canción también hace mucha mención al poder femenino, es muy común de Rosalía resaltar el poder de la feminidad y de las mujeres.
Before I thought this song belonged to El Mal Querer because its sound is somewhat similar to the sound of that album, then I learned that it wasn't, that it was a single and the truth is very good; Rosalía's hook is that it simply doesn't sound like anyone else, it's something new and fresh, although her music is rare and I understand that not everyone may like it, it's very commercial.
I love that in the video there is a lot of representation of the things that characterize femininity, nails, makeup, jewelry, wardrobe, hairstyles, strength, power, etc.... The song also makes a lot of mention to feminine power, it is very common for Rosalía to highlight the power of femininity and women.
Algo que me gusta mucho a mí, son los idiomas y los acentos; cuando ella sacó estas dos canciones me explotó la mente porque, creo, que nunca en mí vida había escuchado a alguien hablar en Catalán, de hecho, era bastante ignorante porque no sabía que existía el Catalán.
F*cking Money Man es muy dinámica, muy activa, es bastante agradable de escuchar y que te suba los ánimos; al contrario de la segunda parte, Dio$ No$ Libre Del Dinero es muy oscura y lenta, se escucha como un lamento, aunque está contando una realidad, todos queremos y buscamos el dinero.
Something that I like a lot is languages and accents; when she released these two songs my mind exploded because, I think, I had never in my life heard someone speak in Catalan, in fact, I was quite ignorant because I didn't know that Catalan existed.
F*cking Money Man is very dynamic, very active, it's quite pleasant to listen to and it gets you in the mood; contrary to the second part, Dio$ No$ Libre Del Dinero is very dark and slow, it sounds like a lament, although it is telling a reality, we all want and look for money.
Tenemos la colaboración con Ozuna y creo que es la segunda vez que escuchamos a Rosalía cantar algo de reggaetón, la voz de ellos dos se escucha muy bien, aunque sinceramente no me gusta mucho Ozuna debido a que su tono de voz cansa muy rápido, tiene música muy buena, varias de sus canciones han pertenecido a mi playlist por bastante tiempo pero no puedo escucharlo siempre.
El vídeo es bastante simple pero estético, aquí vemos que por más que Rosalía experimente y explore, no deja de lado su esencia y como siempre, vemos sus influencias del flamenco aquí.
We have the collaboration with Ozuna and I think this is the second time we hear Rosalía singing some reggaeton, the voice of the two of them is very good, although I honestly don't like Ozuna very much because his tone of voice gets tired very fast, he has very good music, several of his songs have belonged to my playlist for quite some time but I can't listen to him all the time.
The video is quite simple but aesthetic, here we see that as much as Rosalía experiments and explores, she doesn't leave aside her essence and as always, we see her flamenco influences here.
Esta canción, cuando salió, no me gustó; no le entendía que decía y el sonido era en extremo raro pero es de esas canciones que tienes que escuchar varias veces para entenderlas y agarrarles el gusto, así fue; sin darme cuenta pasaba el día cantando el coro y terminé descargándola para agregarla a mi playlist.
El vídeo es tan raro como la canción, es notoria la inspiración en Frida Kahlo que Rosalía tiene para el maquillaje, como en los vestuarios flamencos.
This song, when it came out, I didn't like it; I didn't understand what it said and the sound was extremely weird but it is one of those songs that you have to listen to several times to understand it and get a taste for it, and so it was; without realizing it I spent the day singing the chorus and ended up downloading it to add it to my playlist.
The video is as weird as the song, it is notorious the inspiration in Frida Kahlo that Rosalía has for the makeup, as in the flamenco costumes.
Más influencias del flamenco, las palmas, la guitarra, la manera de cantar, los gritos del fondo; cuando esta canción salió me encantó porque ya había desarrollado ese gusto y/o aprecio por el flamenco.
Rosalía en sus vídeos siempre tiene colores muy contrastantes, o muy fríos o muy cálidos y a la vez, colores muy vividos; ya es algo que la caracteriza, como las uñas largas y sumamente arregladas como el maquillaje, tanto de belleza como de caracterización.
More flamenco influences, the clapping, the guitar, the way she sings, the screams in the background; when this song came out I loved it because I had already developed that taste and/or appreciation for flamenco.
Rosalía in her videos always has very contrasting colors, either very cold or very warm and at the same time, very vivid colors; it is already something that characterizes her, such as long nails and extremely arranged as makeup, both beauty and characterization.
Tenemos esta segunda colaboración y esta vez es con Travis Scott, creo que es la primera colaboración con una persona de no habla hispana; esta canción fue salir de la zona de confort de nuevo, ver a Rosalía cantando trap fue muy raro pero por alguna razón, también le funciona muy bien.
La canción es inevitable que no te levante de la silla, te llena de ánimos y energía, de hecho, muchas veces la utilizó cuando hago ejercicio o cuando estoy limpiando la casa, actividades donde requiero estar activa y con energía.
El vídeo es raro, para ser sincera, aún no lo entiendo del todo; pero estéticamente es muy americano, sin embargo y como siempre, no pierde esa esencia de Rosalía que la caracteriza.
We have this second collaboration and this time it's with Travis Scott, I think it's the first collaboration with a non-Spanish speaking person; this song was getting out of the comfort zone again, seeing Rosalía singing trap was very weird but for some reason, it also works very well for her.
The song is inevitable that it doesn't get you out of your chair, it fills you with encouragement and energy, in fact, many times I use it when I exercise or when I'm cleaning the house, activities where I need to be active and energetic.
The video is weird, to be honest, I still don't fully understand it; but aesthetically it's very American, however, as always, it doesn't lose that essence of Rosalía that characterizes her.
Después de una gran inactividad, Rosalía nos da una probada de lo que será su nuevo disco como también, nos presenta su nombre: Motomami.
De una podemos escuchar que será algo totalmente nuevo a lo que estamos acostumbrados, con ese vídeo de menos de un minuto, ya nos da una idea de lo que puede llegar a ser Motomami, sin embargo, me atrevo a decir que NADIE se esperaba lo que realmente fue Motomami; pero como Motomami fue tan controversial y blanco de muchas criticas tanto de sus haters como de sus fans, este pedazo lo dejaré para la otra parte del blog.
After a great inactivity, Rosalía gives us a taste of what will be her new album and also presents its name: Motomami.

La verdad que Rosalía tiene mucha tela para cortar y ella sabe cómo callar bocas, entiendo que, como todo, no a todos le puede gustar lo mismo y que hay personas que simplemente no les gusta Rosalía, su voz y/o su música en general; pero no se puede negar la versatilidad y la voz que tiene esta artista.
No es como cualquier cantante de música urbana actual, Rosalía tiene estudios y bases musicales bien solidas; ella es realmente un artista nato, no un artista creado por la industria.
The truth is that Rosalía has a lot of material to cut and she knows how to shut mouths, I understand that, like everything, not everyone can like the same thing and that there are people who simply don't like Rosalía, her voice and/or her music in general; but there is no denying the versatility and the voice that this artist has.
She is not like any other current urban music singer, Rosalía has studies and solid musical bases; she is truly a born artist, not an artist created by the industry.
