Hoy quiero hablarles de algo curioso, ya que vino a mí una idea cuando leí un post referente a un concurso llamado “Mis 3 Canciones Favoritas”. Tuve la intención de participar, porque soy músico y me considero melómano, y no tengo solo tres sino muchas canciones favoritas. Tratando de tomar la decisión de cuáles podía colocar, pensé en uno de mis cantantes preferidos desde niño.

Haciendo un recorrido mental en cuáles serían las tres canciones que escogería, recordé tres de este excelente músico, cantante y –me gustaría hacer referencia– quien también fue conocido como pacifista. De allí esta idea de crear frases con tres de sus canciones dedicadas al amor y la paz.
Tal vez muchos pudieran considerarlo un poco excéntrico, tal vez bohemio, alguien que usó la música para llevar un mensaje ya que muchas de sus frases son citadas a menudo, como la que dice: “vivimos en un mundo donde tenemos que escondernos para hacer el amor mientras que la violencia se practica a plena luz del día”. O una de sus frases muy polémicas donde hizo referencia a que los Beatles eran más famosos que Jesús, queriendo decir que las personas dejaban de ir a la iglesia por entrar a sus conciertos.

A continuación las tres canciones a las que quiero hacer referencia, y lo haré en español para que vean la idea que vino a mi mente, y estas son:
Imagina (“Imagine”)
Solo necesitas amor (“All you need is love”)
Dale un chance a la paz (“Give peace a chance”)
Podemos hacer de estos tres títulos, sin importar el orden, enunciados a modo de anagrama que nos generen una sensación de ser un mensaje de amor y paz.
“Imagina, solo necesitas amor. Dale un chance a la paz”
“Imagina: dale un chande a la paz, solo necesitas amor”
“Dale un chance a la paz. Imagina. Solo necesitas amor”
“Dale un chance a la paz, solo necesitas amor: imagina”

Tal vez fue una idea que solo vino a mí y no la quise dejar pasar ya que me pareció muy ocurrente. O me gusta pensar y tener la fantasía de que a Lennon, en medio de su genialidad, como músico, compositor y pacifista ya se le habría ocurrido, y que posiblemente a raíz de su trágica muerte no pudo continuar con sus brillantes ideas y buenos mensajes como los que surgen de estos temas.

Today I want to talk to you about something curious, since an idea came to me when I read a post referring to a contest called "My 3 Favorite Songs". I had the intention to participate, because I am a musician and I consider myself a music lover, and I have not only three but many favorite songs. Trying to make the decision of which ones I could place, I thought of one of my favorite singers since I was a kid.

Doing a mental run-through on which three songs I would choose, I remembered three by this excellent musician, singer and -I would like to make reference- who was also known as a pacifist. Hence this idea of creating phrases with three of his songs dedicated to love and peace.
Maybe many might consider him a bit eccentric, maybe bohemian, someone who used music to carry a message since many of his phrases are often quoted, like the one that says: "we live in a world where we have to hide to make love while violence is practiced in broad daylight". Or one of his very controversial phrases where he made reference to the Beatles being more famous than Jesus, meaning that people stopped going to church to go to their concerts.

Next the three songs I want to make reference to, and I'll do it in Spanish so you can see the idea that came to my mind, and these are:
Imagina ("Imagine").

We can make these three titles, regardless of the order, into anagram-like statements that generate a sense of being a message of love and peace.

Maybe it was an idea that just came to me and I didn't want to let it go since I thought it was so witty. Or I like to think and have the fantasy that Lennon, in the midst of his genius, as a musician, composer and pacifist would have already thought of it, and that possibly as a result of his tragic death he was unable to continue with his brilliant ideas and good messages such as those that arise from these themes.
