Hello Hive Music Lovers!,
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by
.
This week's ttt is dedicated to the awesome Electric Samurai himself Hotei. You have probably heard his great rift in Kill Bill in the Yakuza part where O-Ren Ishii enters.
I cannot imagine that the scene would be so powerful without the great work of the Electric Samurai. It is an awesome tune and he is a great musician.
It has got to be one of the best parts of the film, even though there is no fighting action, it is a great entrance tune. You can see it here. Although I am not a fan of the movie as a whole, I do love some of its component parts that make up the film, certain scenes and the soundtrack.
The fighting choreography is good, but not up to the excellent work in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon with the Jen vs. Shu Lien Sword Fight
That being said, Tarantino has great taste in music and I move on to my second selection from the Kill Bill film and that song is the iconic song by Santa Esmeralda. It is the type of classic tune that can skim under the radar and bring you lots of joy when you discover it.
Although the song has a disco vibe to it, it has some other nostalgic quality to it.
The final song from Kill Bill this week is the brilliant performance by Andre Rieu and the song by Gheorghe Zamfir - The Lonely Shepherd. This is another iconic tune that Tarantino selected in the film that really gets the nostalgic reflections going on.
I cannot imagine that deep feeling the crowd must have been feeling listening to this great performance in the open air.
What is your favorite tune from the Kill Bill film?
