Hello Hive Music Lovers!,
Welcome to another #threetunetuesday created originally by .
I like to share some music that I am listening to each week and this week we listen to 3 tunes from the awesome Polo & Pan.
But first, for those unfamiliar with TTT or Three Tune Tuesday.... to quote :
The jist is as follows
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs which I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the prize.
Polo and Pan are a music duo from France, although they have some collaborations and I thought a couple of female members too, certainly in the olden days. They play a cool style of electonic music and something pretty unique in my opinion.
Someone wrote under one of their live sets, that they were not sure if the vibe fits for them, but then you listen again and again and somehow you are hooked.
I have to agree, the sometimes bizarre type songs and sound, somehow grips you and you keep coming back for more. The guys act is first class and I somehow feel as though I am watching Napoleon on the decks in front of me. It is all very french and therefore, compeletely un-understandable.
The first tune is their most popular tune on youtube that I like and is great introduction the duo. I could not find a good live recording of the tune, but the video is pretty interesting.

The next tune is probably the bizarre tune that I have come across in some time, both lyrically and general sounds and vibe. First there is the studio version with the girls singing the tune in English with a French accent and they seem to have Noddy like costumes on.
I could never imagine an electronic tune about Dorothy and following the yellow brick road and the Wizard of Oz, but somehow I have stumbled upon it and it is addictive. I just want to hear the girls say Dorothy in that great french accent.
I would actually recommend to listen to this version that I have timestamped at 30:20 which is another twist on the original version below.
As the girls did not sing, Paul (I think the Polo) from Polo and Pan then sings in a synthesied voice in front of the crowd which is somehow entertaining and totally bizarre, but I love it and don't quite know why. At first I cannot make out what he says, but it seems about following the yellow brick road.
In their live act they have a few cameos and play keyboards and do some other entertaining stuff that it is not boring like a regular DJ set can be. Something about the whole thing is just so very French.
Dorothy
This leads on to some awesome climatic appearances from the wonderful Corine who has you mesmerised and I will maybe cover her next week as she deserves a post of her own.
On to the last song for today and a tune I love from the guys which gives a really relaxed vibe. Although this older version seems a little too slow for me and I would listen to the great live performance that the guys did here, although it could be me and it is the same.
The timestamp is 3:00 for the start of the tune. There were a couple of woman at the front of the crowd who really enjoyed the tune too. There is something about this melodramatic sound that is hynotising.

The bonus tune today is one of my favorites from the guys and I am trying not to play it too much so as to keep it that way. Something about the French language here is very heaven-like, even though I am not understanding what they are saying, they seem to be having a lot of fun.
My favorite version is this live version here where sadly she is singing alone, but gives an amazing performance still. It gives you a feeling for the Paris vibe, pre-covid.
I guess I just love this whole live performance at Serre Monumentale in Paris and can recommend it, it is their best one I think. There are some great french performers right now and I hope to cover a few of them in some upcoming posts.
