I don't have a red dress but Lana del Rey does and the inspiration to remix this track came after an epic night out at a drum & bass rave. Funnily enough I was dancing with a girl in a green dress from Estonia but alas, it was a short lived romance as we danced in the lasers.
Living off the buzz that weekend, I thought I'd go for that remix of one of my favourites from Lana del Rey called Summertime Sadness. Seeing as it's Autumn here in the UK and getting over some personal things that finished at the end of summer, my remix of Summertime Sadness seemed appropriate to share today!
When you get messages from people saying that your remix connected with them on such a deep level it brought them to tears, that's a special feeling. I had no expectations of this but over the years, 125 people felt it was good enough to download on Soundcloud and hopefully you enjoy it too!
This was one of my first remixes I had mastered by a studio back in 2014 along with End of the Tunnel and the perfectionist in me, 7 years later, knows the sound quality could've been better. Just something about the mixdown could be a little cleaner.
However, at the time, it sounded pretty decent. If I can find the project on an old hard drive, I might give it a remake but it's good enough for me and the memories it brings back are special indeed.
