Something I've been meaning to do for a while was mash-up two tunes I made as they always blended well together when I used to do the live mixes.
These tunes are a remix I did of Brukah's Ostseeküste and a tune that's no longer released called "Reflections". I really do need to get those tunes up on Spotify again, all in good time!
Anyway, I just decided to throw these two tunes in to the music software I use and see how they'd sound together.
Personally, I think the sound quality is a little better on the Ostseeküste tune as it's a little more recent and my production skills improved since making Reflections.
So I decided to use the bassline and lower frequencies from Ostseeküste and filtered out the slightly higher frequencies. This allows the main melody from Reflections to float on top.
As I'm so used to how these two tunes sound like on their own, when I finally merged everything together to get it to work, it was like my brain couldn't quite compute what was going on!
The keys of the tracks are actually different but complementary on the music scale so in a way, it sounds weird but it kinda works!
I decided to make this a free download for you all to enjoy - you can get it from my Soundcloud page below.
Hope you enjoy!
