When I was a kid, my parents saved up to buy a stereo system, and they had just a few records to play on it. Listening to recorded music was something of a luxury in a household with very little spare cash.
They had a few Country and Western albums, some Rock and Roll compilations, a sounds effects album, themes from TV series, the greatest Cowboy movie themes like 'the Good The Bad and the Ugly' and a kids record with things on like 'the Runnaway Train' and 'The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly'. The only one I remember that was by a specific group or artist was Simon and Garfunkels Greatest Hits. I listened to it over and over.
One of my favourite Simon and Garfunkel songs on that album was, 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'. It was a big hit in 1977 and actually came from the album of the same name.
I hope you enjoy my vocal arrangement of the song. All parts are sung by me but I have to admit I used a backing track from KaraokeVersion.com. The piano part was just a bit too hard for me unfortunately.
