today we have some random seven inches that i just kinda grabbed real quick for a fun and diverse pic....WE GOT SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
Free Kitten
"oh bondage up yours!"
1992
this is a super group band consisting of kim gordon from sonic youth, yoshimi from the boredoms and julie cafritz from pussy galore. this song is a cover from the band x ray specs
Emeralds
"fresh air"
2009
Shining, shimmering, splendid synthesizer and guitar music from this cleveland trio on the a soundesign recording label. Great film slide cover art by david russell
John Cage
"credo in us"
1942
this is a bootleg john cage 7 inch, how great that this exists. I can't find the recording so heres a performance of the piece linked from the discogs entry from this record.
Tubby the Tuba
Tubby the Tuba, the legendary beloved children's character!
Mighty Mouse
"dj swamp remix"
1999
I couldn't find the mighty mouse DJswamp remix and i'm sure you know the original mighty mouse theme song, so i'll just link to his amazing world finals DMC competition from 1996
The Amazing World of Short Wave Listening
1959
hear such wonders as
-the president's voice from outer space
-actual capture of a desperate criminal
-a radio amateur talking from little America
-foreign language and drama from overseas
-ships at sea...aircraft transmissions
Butthole Surfers
"the lord is a monkey"
1995
and one more 90s picture disc to round it out. i don't remember this being my favorite butthole surfers era-with the beck style rap beats and all..but hey, i guess they put their time in and had to get paid. not that this song is gonna get anyone paid, its not as palatable as 'pepper' ...the b side is some type of a 'wacky christmas' song.
thanks for checking out my 7 inches!
