Merle doesnt even look like he wants to be there on the cover of his own Christmas record! Merle was one of those wild country guys....not like John Denver. For great stories of these artists' contemporaries I highly recommend "tales from the tour bus" by mike judge for some great old school country partying and shooting stories. They did a great 2nd season with great funk artists, like george clinton, james brown, etc.

I mentioned this ome the other week so why not throw it in here...yes, the beastie boys did a fake joke country album right at the tail end of their prime. The country rappers delight song is better than this one.
