Greetings, this is my first time posting.
I am a passionate lover of music in all shapes and forms. I particularly enjoy collecting vinyl and trying new artists.
I'd like to start things off in this community by going through my collection and discussing what I love about particular albums.
I'm hoping this serves as way for me to discover new artists as well as understanding how other people's experiences of listening to an album differs from my own.
The first album I'd like to discuss is called Ummon by SLIFT. It's a wonderful flurry from start to finish. The album is largely instrumental featuring eclectic riffs and when the vocals do hit, they hit hard. On an album that would broadly be described as psychedelic rock the vocals hit you with a punch of punk, almost sex pistols-esk.
The album fluctuates from blasts of heavy sections to dropping you into peace dust clouds that would make Pink Floyd proud. Although there is large contrast throughout the album it often goes unnoticed due to how immersive the experience of listening to it is.
I'd love to hear what your opinion is on this album.
Happy listening.
