Helo Dear Hivers, Music is Here! 👽
Let's Summarize! ⚖️
Today I want to share with you my live mix, which has become a kind of summing up in the world of dance music and the beginning of the countdown of my podcast series! My debut podcast of indie dance and electronic music, which, oddly enough, returns along the spiral of fashion and relics of time back to our embrace. This year, many truly divine creations were born in the world of music, and I spent a lot of time listening to hundreds or even thousands of tracks in order to highlight some new names or musical bands for myself, study creativity and evaluate how it works. evolving and modernizing itself, the answers to such questions are buried under tens of thousands of records in old boxes in the attics, and I believe that now is the time to get these boxes of records, blow the dust off them and listen again. 👻
JAAR PTICA 🐦
To record my live mix, I used Ableton Live and my two midi controllers, AKAI APC 20 and Novation Launch Pad X Mini. I had an idea to make this show 2 hours long, but I decided that an hour was the best option. It took a lot of time to assemble a good compilation in the correct sequence, every now and then I had to swap tracks and some even remove them altogether, I wanted to scoop up as many good tracks as possible and record this podcast in order to share it with everyone who is interested.
All the tracks that I chose are the tracks of 2022, I listened to a lot over the whole year in this genre, it is interesting precisely for its vintage wave, this genre has preserved what stood at the origins of creating dance music - pumping beat and rich bass!
FX 〽️
In order to diversify the tracks and add something of my own in terms of processing, I used an equalizer that is tied to the knobs on the controller, and thus, while recording the mix, I have the opportunity to control both the processing effects and the equalizer directly from the controller, in general, playing with a midi controller and Ableton Live very different from playing on a Traktor Pro 3, for example, although the principle is the same in essence, but the methods are different, and in fact, performing or recording a mix in Ableton turns into a more interesting performance than just mixing two tracks in Traktor Pro, but I don’t have anything against the Traktor, this is a very convenient program that does not require additional settings like Ableton, put the laptop and the Traktor in a case and went to perform, it's very cool! And in Ableton Live, you still need to manually set up each track and make warping, and in this regard, the advantage of Ableton is that you have more options when working with music and it doesn’t matter if it’s your author’s work or you write a mix of the tracks you like, like they say made by musicians for musicians!
Conclusion 📌
This year the Indie Dance scene delighted the listeners with many new wonderful musical compositions, like any other genre, this is for sure, but the subtlety of the product in this particular genre shows how music can evolve and maintain the foundation of its style, I am glad that Indie Dance is returning again in new colors, with new emotions, new bass waves and signature presentation.
Thank you for taking the time, I hope my debut podcast will inspire you to create or you will just go about your business with these tracks - it always makes me happy and it means everything is not in vain. See you soon friends, I wish you all a good week and let everything be - Music!
