Hello music people ๐, this is another Tuesday which means it's another day for our favorite Hive Challenge...
#threetunestuesday
Actually for this week, I've already had a theme in mind for 3 posts and I this #ttt post was going to be based on it but due to making the songs fit, I'm going to go with another theme...
Black And White Tunes ๐ค๐ค
I would have gone ahead and explained the brainstorming I did when thinking of this post, cus believe there was a lot of brainstorming ๐, but I would spare you such unnecessary details...
You're here for the tunes and the messages it brings...
So let's begin....๐ถ
The Blacker the Berry - Kendrick Lamar
This i believe is one of Kendrick's most violent and heart felt song. In this track he discusses how hypocritic racism can be, based of the novel of Wallace Thumpman The Blacker the Berry.
The song is divided into three parts in which Kendrick sang perfectly well. Using his lyricism, he tells us a story about a black man who hated the whites. Declining their outreaches towards him and pronouncing them racists.
Later on in life (2nd stanza), the before mentioned black man rants on again, talking about how racist the world can be. How they ridicule and curse him because of his color. How they try to keep him calm with odd philosophies about how he's aiming to far and his hate would make him short sighted and close minded.
At the last stanza, the man has realized that his hatred isn't only from him. He decides to open his mind about many things, this seeing how hypocritical the term racist really is.
White Privileges II - Macklemore and Ryan Lewis
This is actually a new track in my playlist. When looking for a song about white culture it's the first and the most things I saw so I checked it out and ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅบโฅ๏ธ
In this 8 minutes track, the white's and black where criticized thoroughly, indeed showing the wrongs that were done on both sides.
With some audio clips from the #blacklivesmatter riot.
The main theme of the track is to help guide people to use the White Privileges they do enjoy to help the Black people without such privileges.
I think what moved me the most about this song is that it was a white rapper that sang it๐โค๏ธโจ
Okay I think its time to go to a more calmer and jovial song about races๐๐
This is...
Untitled 03| 05.28.2013 - Kendrick Lamar
In this track, Kendrick talks about how different races contribute to each other, mentioning what they prioritize first in their lifestyles and how it affects his musical career. It is both informative and quite funny ๐ค
So I guess that's all for my entry today. Today was less about the songs and more about the message.
Which is that we should always look out for one another, communication is key. We are all in this planet and at such we should all cooperate.
This post was prompted by a film I just finished watching All American Homecoming, which I'll surely write a review on later๐.
As always our honorable mentions; ,
and others who help make this challenge a success ๐คโค๏ธ
