Here is a compilation of a few #teletuesday improvisations from the past year. I had to take a break from these for about six months because of an arm injury but plan on starting up a #teletuesday improvisation hopefully weekly.
This first improvisation is on my G&L ASAT deluxe with two humbuckers. The pickups are good for distorted and clean tones, not so much for typical tele tone. The mood of this improvisation is a bit dark and meandering with a subtle drum beat I composed in superior drummer. This improvisation is on my special edition 30th anniversary G&L ASAT. The pickups on this one are soapbars that give it a deeper tone on the lows and twang on the high notes. This one has a baroque sort of feel to it especially when the second track moves into place with the higher notes. Here is another improvisation on my black G&L ASAT deluxe. I drop d tuned the guitar on this one to get deeper distortion notes for the rhythm parts. The improvisation kind of bounces between a lighter clean bouncy delay tone and a distorted tone. This one is a sort of classic/country rock improvisation with both my ASATs in it. I also added some bass to the background, funny thing is all these guitars including the musicman stingray bass were designed by Leo Fender who invented the telecaster. These later telecaster designs under the name of G&L are some of Leo's better more refined designs of the original telecaster in my opinion. This improvisation started out more structured as I built a solid bass and drum backing track first before adding the guitar improvisation over the top of it. It ended up reminding me of a post punk/russian doomer style with lots of ambience to it. This improvisation formed based on an acoustic guitar improvisation on my Wechter Pathfinder. I made sure to play to a metronome so I could easily add the drums via my Roland Handsonic. Towards the middle of the song I brought in the G&L ASAT Deluxe to harmonize over the rest of the tracks. For this improvisation I wanted to test out the versatility of the Bias FX 2 plugin. I just recorded the signal clean into my zoom recorder to a metronome. Later I sliced up the guitar track and added different effects based on the feel of that section. After that I composed midi drums around each section. That's all for now, more soon and thanks for listening :-)
