Es muy fácil desmotivarse; convivimos en un entorno salvaje, incomprensible y complejo. No sabemos si, alguna vez, podremos convertir en realidad esos éxitos ocultos en la imaginación. Puede ser que la meta no está precisamente donde la imaginamos, sino más allá, pero… ¿Cómo saberlo? Es increíble lo mucho en lo que la música influye al momento de una reflexión. Algo de esto me recuerda a las tertulias literarias de Miguel de Cervantes, y aquella icónica frase que pone lo siguiente:
¡Muy cierto Miguel! Hay dos pequeñas palabras que lo cambian todo: “Ánimo y Espíritu”, de hecho, las canciones que seleccioné para esta ocasión especial relatan la esperanza que, incluso en un mundo salvaje e imposible de entender, nos brindan un poco de luz y nos enseñan que mientras luchemos con corazón, ninguna meta será imposible de alcanzar.
It is very easy to get demotivated; we live in a wild, incomprehensible, and complex environment. We don't know if we can ever turn those successes hidden in the imagination into reality. En mis oídos revivió el recuerdo de tantas emociones producidas por cintas cinematográficas como el Rey León, Mulán, 6 Big Heros, etc. Los soundtracks de estas animaciones son, sin duda, una obra de arte musical. No obstante, me vi en la dura tarea de seleccionar las cuatro mejores piezas sonoras de Disney, ¡vaya que fue difícil! Pero me aferré al mensaje de resiliencia y perseverancia.

To fuel the nostalgia and lighten the spirits (the main objective of this post) I navigated to Disney's musical hits and their most sentimental movies. In my ears, the memory of so many emotions produced by films such as The Lion King, Mulan, 6 Big Heroes, etc. revived. The soundtracks of these animations are, without a doubt, a musical work of art. However, I found myself in the difficult task of selecting the four best Disney sound pieces, boy was it difficult! But I clung to the message of resilience and perseverance.

La canción es hermosa. La historia detrás de los acordes y los coros es, por otro lado, profunda. Se invita a los soñadores a mirar el ejemplo de las orugas: puede que no sepan que en algún momento se convertirán en mariposas, sin embargo, en su transitar por la vida, lo comprueban. Hay una magnífica conexión de dos, y un milagro que algún día llegará. Antes de ello toca escalar hasta la metamorfosis. No es nada fácil incluso para un invertebrado destinado a tener alas. Acá está lo bonito de “Dos Oruguitas”, pues cuando intentamos luchar por algo no sabemos si lograremos conseguirlo, aunque estemos destinados a lograrlo. Somos como una oruga: en algún momento las alas saldrán. La diferencia es que los humanos si debemos ganárnoslas… de allí la importancia de creer y perseverar.
Por supuesto, para conseguir esas alas debemos, en primer lugar, sentirnos libres. Esa última palabra conlleva a pensar en el contexto de tus metas como persona, sobre todo cuando tu entorno intenta limitarte o cortar tus ganas de volar. ¡No te preocupes! Hallé otra canción maravillosa que, en definitiva, es otra gran fuente de inspiración motivacional.

Here is the beauty of “Dos Oruguitas”, because when we try to fight for something we don't know if we will be able to achieve it, even though we are destined to achieve it. We are like a caterpillar: the wings will eventually come out. The difference is that humans must earn it... hence the importance of believing and persevering.
Of course, to get those wings we must, first of all, feel free. That last word leads you to think in the context of your goals as a person, especially when your environment tries to limit you or cut off your desire to fly. Don't worry! I found another wonderful song that is another great source of motivational inspiration.
“Learn Me Right” es una canción de Birdy, una artista que ya ha colaborado con su voz para los soundtracks de películas famosas, entre estas Bajo la Misma Estrella y Valiente, de Disney, de la cual se desprende esta colaboración. La chica que nos canta es clara en su sonata: quiere librarse de aquellos que de manera constante intentan cortar sus alas. La identidad resulta un tesoro único, su lírica, entonada con rebeldía y una serie de ritmos de origen escocés. Entonces:
¿Se puede interpretar esta canción como una metáfora de escape?
Yo creo, en todo sentido, que se trata de una metáfora referente a los escapes necesarios. No puedes ser feliz ni mucho menos alcanzar tus sueños en un lugar donde no seas libre, donde no te sientas como eres en realidad. De allí esa parte de la canción que dice: “Cumpliremos nuestros sueños y seremos libres.”
Con respecto a esto, Shakira también tiene que decir algo… o bueno, mejor dicho: cantar algo.

“Try Everything” es un tesoro de canción, ¿y cómo no va a serlo? Por un lado, fue escrita por una de las cantantes más maravillosas en el mundo, Pop Dream, y me refiero a SIA. Por el otro lado, la genialidad de Shakira le da un toque vigoroso a esta icónica pieza musical forjada para Zootopia, la película animada de Disney. La letra es inspiradora en todos los sentidos, pues hace hincapié en que nunca debemos rendirnos, todo lo contrario: hay que amar el proceso, con errores de por medio, hasta que podamos llegar a la meta… aunque hayamos llegado de último.
¿Quiere decir eso que estamos derrotados?
En realidad no. O ganamos o perdemos, eso lo sé, pero en el proceso somos más resistentes, mejoramos y alcanzamos objetivos nuevos. No hay que temerle al fracaso, ni mucho menos a la prueba del ensayo y el error. ¡Está bien equivocarse! ¡Está bien perder! Lo que no está bien es rendirse, incluso cuando la vida te cambia para siempre… cuando perdemos algo importante… cuando una de las oruguitas alza su vuelo para siempre.
“Try Everything” is a treasure of a song, and how can it not be? For one, it was written by one of the most amazing singers in the world, Pop Dream, and I mean SIA. On the other hand, Shakira's genius gives a vigorous touch to this iconic piece of music forged for Zootopia, the Disney animated film. The lyrics are inspiring in every way, as they emphasize that we should never give up, quite the opposite: you have to love the process, with mistakes in between, until we can reach the goal... even if we arrived last.
Does that mean that we are defeated?
Not really. We either win or lose, I know that, but in the process, we become more resilient, improve, and reach new goals. There is no need to fear failure, much less the test of trial and error. It's okay to be wrong! It's okay to lose! What is not right is giving up, even when life changes you forever... when we lose something important... when one of the caterpillars takes flight forever.

Todos los días pienso en lo mucho que he logrado gracias al recuerdo de mi hermano, y cómo la esperanza de su memoria me ha ayudado a no desistir, muy a pesar de que ha sido un proceso complejo y doloroso. Pero, tal como pone la letra de esta canción:
He aprendido que en esta vida todo es posible. Solo hay que desearlo con corazón y ensayar y errar todas las veces posibles, hasta que ese ¡Eureka! Llene tu espíritu de éxito y libertad. Lo único que nos separa de la meta es un camino por recorrer, ¿te animas a recorrerlo? El miedo, la decepción o la derrota son parte del proceso, la victoria, por otro lado, es un trofeo con el que naces… solo debes luchar por conseguirla.

Every day I think about how much I have achieved thanks to the memory of my brother, and how the hope of his memory has helped me not to give up, even though it has been a complex and painful process. But, as the lyrics of this song put it:
