Today is the day. This is the official release of a music video from Our Last Story. This is the band my son Rodney (drummer) and his buddies created.
The story behind the video, which was inspired by Rodney's horrific rollover accident on August 25, 2017 hits close to home and feels like coming full circle.
The video was shot at our home and the home of my brother, who lives next door. The truck shown is the same one Rodney rolled that night and it sits in the pasture as a reminder of those difficult days. Oftentimes I have wondered why we kept it around and now I know it had one more purpose before it's usefulness had run it's course. Maybe now we can let it go.
The day they were shooting the street scene I had to work. As I drove home and turned down toward my house I saw a bunch of bloody people in the road. It sent a shiver of fright down my spine. As I got closer I could see that it was Rodney laid out in the road and it dawned on me what they were doing.
It was really interesting to see how a video was made. It took them two full weekends to get all the footage and weed through the mountain of material to whittle it down to four minutes that told a story.
I love this song and this video...it has special meaning to me. I hope you love it too!
