Tune 1 Madness - It Must Be Love
It Must Be Love by Madness
Do you know Madness were nicknamed the Nutty Boys early on in their career which is probably why they are quite possibly my favourite band... as yes I am fluffing nutty and did once heck of a lot of antics like them!
It Must Be Love was originally written and released by Labi Siffre in 1971.
However, Madness covered the song in 1981 and it reached number 4 on the UK Singles Chart.
If you listen then you will see hear it is a romantic ballad. It is a love tt afterall!
The lyrics express the joy and uncertainty of being in love.
Being ska though it is upbeat and catchy with a ska-inspired arrangement not ot mention a fluffing catchy melody.
Now girls get singing and dancing!
Tune 2 The Beat - Best Friend
The Beat as we call them over here or The English Beat as they are called on the other side of the Atlantic..
I used to tell people well I still do from time to time to go look in the mirror and tell the person you see that they are awesome...
Well the lyrics of Best Friend were written by Wakeling and he described the song as being about "singing a song to a reflection, you know, I just found I'm your best friend – you".
So yeah an appropriate song of love!
There really are so many tunes to pick from, and I spent too long this morning listening to see what I should pick for you!
But fluff it, stick with your gut, is what I tell people.
So here is my original third choice!
Tune 3 Bad Manners - Skinhead Love Affair
Buster Bloodvessel the lead singer from Madness is amazing and his band Bad Manners are awesome!
A surprising title but this song is a humorous take on love with a ska twist, known for its energetic sound and playful lyrics.
