I fell asleep to the sounds of whirling winds blowing against the side of the house last night. It was almost like old man winter was making a polite introduction announcing his arrival. When I woke this morning I looked out my window to discover snow covered rooftops and frost covered lawns.
For this #MusicMonday I thought I'd post songs that remind me of winter.
I'll start with Nox Arcana. I posted a track by Nox Arcana last week for my Halloween / Samhain selections. I'm including one of their albums this week as well. They actually have 3 albums dedicated to the winter months and I love all three of them. Winter's Eve, Winter's Knight and Winter's Majesty are three great albums to look up by Nox Arcana. I'll often load all three of the albums into my music app and spend the night sipping wine listening to them on a cold winters night. Great music to relax too with a classical sort of goth / occult vibe to it. I found a full album of Winter's Knight on YouTube.
Nox Arcana - Winter's Knight
I don't know what it is about this track, but I'll play this song repeatedly on the day of the first snow fall. This has to be one of my favorite songs by Led Zeppelin.
Led Zeppelin - No Quarter
This next one is a little sentimental to me and actually reminds me of a special someone from my past. It always brings a smile to my face whenever I hear it. I've long lost contact with this person, but thoughts of her always fill my head when I hear this one. It's funny how music and certain songs can always flood your mind with pleasant memories from the past.
Judas Priest - Diamonds and Rust
This next one is like the Buffalo NY theme song. At one time Buffalo was considered the snow capital of the US. This town is famous for snow storms and extremely harsh winters. When there's a snow storm in the area you can't get through the day without one of the rock n roll radio stations playing this track!
Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song
Finally, I think Winter by the Rolling Stones is a wonderful musical depiction of Winter!

This is post #2 of my #HiveBloPoMo hosted by for the month of November. If I complete this challenge I think it will be the third time in 3 years that I've blogged for 31 consecutive days on the Hive blockchain.
