1) Yngwie Malmsteen
Style: Metal / Instrumental / Guitar
Country: Sweden
For my first choice today I've picked an instrumental song... actually, it's just a guitar solo! A very fast one! 😈
In the Metal scene, Yngwie Malmsteen is a famous name... At one point in time he was considered to be one of the greatest and fastest guitarists on the planet.
He has played along with very important people... but perhaps the most known are Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, when the three of them formed the G3 band. This was an instrumental music project joining together 3 fabulous guitar players!
Yngwie Malmsteen has released around 20 albums so far, most of them as a solo artist. He's been playing since the 80's and 40 years later, he's not ready to call it quits. In fact, he has released a new album in the Spring of 2019.
If you don't know this guy yet, pay attention to how fast his fingers move in a track called Arpeggios from Hell, which was composed by himself:
2) You+Me
Style: Folk
Country: Canada / USA
This is a oddly unknown project which was not very popular nor successful, despite the popularity of both members. This duo was formed in 2014 by:
- Dallas Green, better known as City and Colour; ... and ...
- Alecia Moore, better known as P!nk;
Before his solo career Dallas Green was in the band Alexisonfire... and P!nk, well... she's an artist who dismisses any introduction. If you don't know about her, you have been living under a rock for a few decades now. 😁
The two of them formed this project to play some folk songs, they released a single album and performed a few live shows... and then we never heard of it again. You+Me disappeared in 2015 as quickly as it had appeared just a year before. What a pity... 😶
