Music brings me so much joy, it can take me from a place of darkness, straight into the light. There have been many times, that music has saved me. Especially when I can move to it and there is not much music out there, that you can not move your body to.
When I am dancing, I like to move to music that is progressive, that interweaves me into it's Journey. Taking me to depths, that welcome my arrival and lighten my load.
It's Three Tune Tuesday, so I would like to share a wonderful Canadian collective, with you all. That make some of the most beautiful music, in my opinion. It's got this magical air to it, think fantasy world here. Then mix in some trip hop and orchestral music and viola, you have Clann.
A creation of Sebastian McKinnon, who is both a composter, artist and film director. Along with other musicians. He made a trilogy of short films a few years back, that are worth checking out.
The message from this music, is one that you have to feel and I expect it is different for everyone.
I do suggest you listen to the whole album Seelie, just so you don't miss out on the journey. This track, is after a very short intro, with each track at least 4 minutes long. It starts with the piano, so beautifully played, building up towards this beautiful moment when the strings and vocal join in. I so love string instruments and the violin and cello in this is beautiful. The whole song, picks me up and sweeps me away with it, a big smile on my face and a very happy heart. I have written many a poem to this track, to all of them actually. So tune in and drift away.
I take you from the beginning, to this track, almost the end. This song, is so uplifting. The whole arrangement to me is stunningly done. This is the song that I want people to celebrate my life to. It represents all I love about music, the soaring vocals, the orchestral music, the electronic beat, which pulls me in right from the beginning. Where it raises me up, then gently allows me to ground again, until the next wave carries me away once again. I can not, not dance to this music.
To the final song, called, "I Hold You", which is exactly how I feel whenever I listen to this album, to this music, held. As I delve deep, so moved by the music. By the wonderful journey that they have took me on. This last piece, is so beautiful, as they really strip back the music, allowing you to really appreciate each sound, each instrument. To be rocked by that wonderful trip hop beat and soothed by the vocals.
Enjoy!
