A warm greeting to this beautiful #Music community. I am pleased to share my trumpet performance of "How Do You Keep The Music Playing?", a pop song with jazz and ballad influences, composed by Michel Legrand with Alan and Marilyn Bergman for the 1982 film Best Friends. My favorite version is Frank Sinatra's, produced by Quincy Jones and featured on his album L.A. Is My Lady. The lyrics speak about the fragility of love over time and use the metaphor of music to maintain hope, excitement, and passion. The song is originally written in E major, but in my case, I perform it in A major. The melody is beautiful with a stunning warmth and paints a picture of vulnerability and introspection. The harmony is rich with subtle, deep modulations. The rhythm is slow and flexible, in 4/4 time, with a rubato feel.

Is My Lady.
I love the metaphor of keeping the music burning. Love is built and maintained with small details. I love imagining a campfire where small pieces of wood fuel the fire. These logs are ingredients like faith, repentance, service, forgiveness, shared goals, and activities that strengthen the relationship. Music is one of the logs that transforms, sustains, and strengthens our relationships. Every moment spent with the people we love has its own music. Some melodies bring us positive feelings like joy, gratitude, and hope, and others bring us human and necessary emotions. More complex and mixed ones like nostalgia and empathy also come to our minds and hearts. Music harmonizes our lives and complements them. I hope you wholeheartedly enjoy my performance. Blessings.

Bendiciones.
How Do You Keep The Music Playing
How do you keep the music playing
How do you make it last
How do you keep the song from fading
Too fast
How do you lose yourself to someone
And never lose your way
How do you not run out of new things
Things to say
And since we know we′re always changing
How can it be the same
And tell me how year after year
You're sure your heart will fall apart
Each time you hear, each time you hear her name
I know the way I feel for you is now or never
The more I love, the more that I′m afraid
That in your eyes I may not see forever, forever
If we can be the best of lovers
Yet be the best of friends
If we can try with every day to make it better as it grows
With any luck than I suppose
The music it never ends
I know the way I feel for you is now or never
The more I love the more that I'm afraid
That in your eyes I may not see forever
Forever
If we can be the best of lovers
Yet be the best, the best of friends
If we can try with every day to make it better as it grows
With any luck than I suppose
The music never ends
