Speaking ahead of marked International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, Lorraine said it’s important for people to be proactive in breaking down stereotypes and standing up to racism.
She recalled: “I remember when I had been wearing the Hijab for about six months, I was in the bank one day with a Muslim friend and we were egged.
Lorraine, who was raised Catholic, is in a unique position to fight racism as she once believed stereotypes about Muslims.
