Hey beautiful people!
Sooo, honestly, I have heard the word minimalist or minimalism being used before, but I didn’t know the meaning of the term, and I didn’t really care to find out, at least not until today when I came across this topic and hive in general.
As I saw the topic, I decided, “Hmm, let’s actually check the meaning of the word to fully understand and know exactly what it’s all about before I start writing." After reading it, I was able to understand or get what this topic is all about.
According to what I understood, though, a minimalist is someone who prefers to be simple and live a simple life.
Soooo growing up, I didn’t have the type of selective skin that chose the type of soap or cream to use. I had good skin (probably inherited from my mom or dad), so I could use any soap or cream and won’t have any reactions whatsoever. I changed soaps like water growing up and used different kinds of cream.
Well, it was going well and well up until I entered the university. I dont know if it was the stress of the school workload or the lack of sleep it was giving me; hmmm, maybe generally my puberty stage where you get skin breakouts just didn’t come on time.
I started noticing these breakouts appearing on my face, and I began to panic because, like I said earlier, growing up, I didn’t have these issues at all, so I didn't know what to do. My senior sister at the time was using some Dr. Rashel products to clear her sunburn around her eyes, and I saw it was working for her, and this prompted me to try it.
Let’s just say it was during this period that I understood the saying, "One man’s food is another man’s poison." I started using these products alongside her, and let's just say I didn’t see any difference in my face. I startedthinking,g “Maybe my face is not going to go back to how it was.”.
While I was already losing hope of my face going back to how smooth it was, my mom and her best friend introduced me to a particular soap and face cream.
I stopped using the Dr. Rashel products that were working for my sister’s skin but not for mine, and I started using these products and began noticing the spots leaving my face. My mom also suggested I change my body cream as well and stick to one particular one.
Did I mention with the breakout that was bothering me I was also starting to get darker, which added to my worry and panic?
While using these few products, I started seeing changes in my face. In the aspect of the spots that were making houses on my face, they started to go little by little until I could no longer see them again. With the spots gone, I also started getting my complexion back.
At the end of the day, I realized that I didn't need to buy so many products for my face and body; just a few things were what I needed.
These are the few things I use for my daily self-care routine. I don’t need so many products, just the essentials that work for my skin, and I’m good to go.
Well, there are times when curiosity tends to get the better of me, so I decide to buy some products I come across, and when I notice they aren’t good for me, I drop it after it finishes because I can’t just throw it away.
These are a few things I got out of curiosity in a supermarket, and well, they haven’t been bad to my skin, so I might keep using them.
Thank you for taking your time to go through my “selfcare with just a few products” with me.
I hope you all enjoy reading this and find it relatable.
