So I will be writing on the option 1 of simple living topics and the minimalist community post ideas of the week.
Why me-time is important for your well-being, and some of your favorite me-time activities, and how do you fit them into your schedule.
First of all, as humans what is most important for us is our well-being and health because no matter how much we strive to have wealth or achieve a goal, without good well-being or health we can’t enjoy what we have striven to get and also because they are the fundamentals in having a good enjoyable life. So it’s important to put our well-being first and one way to do that is to have my time.
Me time and its importance
Me-time is simply taking care of yourself and it's more or less like taking care of your health. It involves you taking out a special time to relax your brain, clear your mind or relax it from stress; it can also be a time to be oneself with your spirit more like meditating. Doing this can preserve your mental health and re-energize your body.
I know most of us are always busy with work or one thing or the other without having time to actually do what we love especially those with 9 – 5 jobs. Like me, my job is supposed to be 9-5, but because of the distance from my house to my office it’s 8-6 when you add traffic to the equation, and of course, when I get home am exhausted and all I want to do is lay down and dose off.
My me-time
Before Hive, my me-time included different activities because they vary and depend on my mood, day, and time. Some me-time activities were;
After a long day of work or any stressful activity was just lie down in my bed, connect my phone to my speaker and just play some cool blues while I sing along or just reminisce about old memories, just shutting myself out from everyone.
My other me-time activities include me watching movies alone in my room, closing all the doors and windows making sure the room is dark and just having the chill and feel of being one with the movie, and it’s not just movies alone also animes especially.
Then lastly sports activities; I love playing sports like football and table tennis.
How I balance me-time and work
After joining Hive now what I consider me-time is just writing my heart out, expressing myself, emotions and what’s going on around me, you know just being in the zone. If I don’t write in a day, it just feels like I’m missing out on something big or something important and I get restless until I have something typing on my PC.
My me-time now is basically writing content on Hive because have considered it a hobby now. Though my work activity is always tight I always find a way to make time for it and some of the things I do to create a chance for it is;
Write on my notepad on my way to work and on my way back
Engage in a few comments for some minutes like 5 to 10 minutes before I start my workUse my break time for Hive or set out an hour time frame for it after making sure there’s not much work to do.
Writing at night after work, within a time frame of 2 hours before going to bed
These are how I fit my time for Hive during the weekdays but at weekends I have all the time to myself to write or perform activities as I want.
