My country is so different from other countries where free WiFi is available or where the government includes it in their monthly or weekly bills, you must get your mobile data in my country and this data is expensive because it doesn't last
Some weeks ago I was on Facebook chatting with one of my friends and she mentioned that the amount she is spending on buying data every month is nothing to write about which I understand her complaint.
Getting data is a necessity for everyone but it is somehow expensive, it is not a thing we can neglect if we truly want to know what is going on around us because social media has benched all our local newspapers, the only place to get the correct story is on social media and the most transaction happens on social media as well, without data I can not write this post on hive, so buying data is more important but it is really taking a toll on me.
I calculated the amount I am spending on data every week and it is too much, I planned to cut my coat according to my size now because I do not want to be stranded.
I checked my bank app yesterday to buy data and I saw some cheaper ones that can last for a month so I decided to go for it, I now minimize the hours I spend on social media and also switch off some Apps that run in the background.
To have data is more important than food for me most times because whenever I am on my phone I get to know different things happening in the world and also I have enough time to engage with people on Hive, without my internet connection I can never do anything of such.
We all know the importance of having an internet connection, Especially for bloggers, it is very essential to have, I have cut down the amount of data I used to buy per week, and now I have switched to a monthly subscription in other to save cost, which I know it may last for a month and better than the weekly ones.
I had been on a weekly subscription which always cost me $2 every week which is equivalent to $8 every month but now I have switched to a monthly subscription which is $6 per month, now I can save $2 every month from data subscription.
I can not do without having a data subscription on my phone, it gives me access to many apps even my online bank app, without data I can never access them, so this is a necessity but it needs to be in moderation so that I won't be at loss at the end of the month.
I know some of us can relate to this or should I say most of us are going through the same thing especially people from Nigeria, the amount that people spend on data subscriptions is too much and the data does not last as it used to in the past. It is a must to have but it shouldn't cause a heart attack for us because most times if I check my phone and I see a notification about my data, my mind will skip for minutes especially when I am not financially buoyant.
